Which ride....

I read somewhere on these boards that one of the rides (other than Matterhorn) has a line that divides in two and it's preferable to go one way rather than the other. One side wraps around the attraction and increases wait times. Does anyone recall which it is, and which side is best?
Thanks.

I think RideMax mentioned this for Small World.. maybe Pirates also? I think I need to go back and read all the tips before we leave on Saturday. :thumbsup2

Pirates does split but really do not remember if one side or the other seemed faster. Haunted mansion splits when it gets real busy but then reforms back.

TSMM does not split. The rides that split are:

-Pirates (I find that the right is usually faster because it doesn't snake behind the building like the left sometimes does)
-Indy (at the very very end)
-HM (sometimes)
-Autopia (the inner/right side is faster)
-Space (at the very very end also)
-IASW (Right side avoids handicap loading, which can take a while sometimes)
-Jungle Cruise
-Mickey's Fun Wheel (obviously because they differentiate between "rocking" and "nonrocking" gondolas)

Those are the only ones I'm pretty sure where you get to choose your direction. Others like Tower of Terror and Soarin, you get assigned different lines towards the end. Directions (left/right) are based on your perspective while in line.

For the following, these splits are slightly shorter:
For Indy, take the left at the stairs/ overpass
For Small World, take the right.

Also for Tower of Terror, there is a TV preshow in a single room. The back corner away from the TV opens up to the line for the actual ride.

These won't make a huge difference in time, but every little bit helps...

Pirates can be tricky, IMO. If everyone has just been going in the right side, and the left side is free and clear, the left can be much shorter. But the left side has a "hidden" component to it, so you can end up in a line with many people in it, even if the courtyard area is empty. You really get far back next to the building from taking the left side, and you don't know you're about to find all those people lined up until you're right up on them!

Thank you all. That was exactly what I was looking for. We get on the road tomorrow - 1st day Sunday at park!!!
