We'll be bringing a six month old to DW and he won't be ready to sit in a real high chair yet. Since they don't let strollers in most places and we don't want to hold him the whole time we eat, does anyone have a list of restaurants that have the infant high chairs that babies can lay in?

Thanks!!

I've never seen anything but the standard upright high chairs at Disney that would be for a child who sits well.

ETA: They do have more high chair options in the Baby Care centers though. I just haven't seen them in restaurants before.

I know they have them at some places, like chef mickeys and crystal palace.

I haven't seen that type, only the ones for kids that can sit by themselves. I don't think I would count on them being offered even if they were seen one place before, they may not be there when you go or may all be in use. I would hope to have one and then plan on holding him if they don't have one available. I know that is what we had to do when we went with a tiny little one.

I have never seen them used at Disney. With that being said we have always been allowed to take in stroller for a little one. I wouldn't count on that though, bc I know others have been turned away and had to hold baby. Take that back...one time we did hold one of ours in the plaza restaurant ( awesome place but tiny). The table available there wasn't room so we could've waited on another table or hold baby.... We were hungry! I would ask each restaurant as you check in. Good luck!

They have them at Chef Mickey's for sure, not sure of anywhere else. Having said that, we were able to bring the stroller into most places when we were there last year with an infant unable to sit up yet.

Hmm we do have a reservation at the Plaza. Maybe we should cancel that one. We're going in May so it should be slow season, maybe they'll let us bring the stroller most places. It's small. I'm gonna work with him on being high chair ready, but he has a huge head!

I know they have them at Chef Mickey's. They didn't have them at any other restaurant we ate at that trip, though. We ate at BOG, Coral Reef, Tony's Town Square, Chef Mickey's and Kona Cafe.

We were allowed to bring our stroller into BOG (she was sleeping at the time, lunch time). We were also allowed to bring our stroller into a few QS places, and also the Wishes Dessert Party. I wouldn't count on that, but we asked before bringing them in to those places and were allowed. It's worth asking.

Yes, the last time we had an infant unable to sit up, the Plaza was the only restaurant that we did not bring a stroller into. - It's just too small. We did end up getting a table with a booth and we were able to lay her down at times so that helped. Now that I think about it, Beaches-n-Cream was the same. Otherwise with the infant we were always allowed (almost always the host would automatically offer) for us to bring the stroller in with us. I'll try to list the places we ate at that year that we brought the stroller into.

Rainforest Cafe
O'hana
Chef Mickeys (they had infant high chairs though so no need for stroller)
Crystal Palace
Sci-Fi
Hollywood & Vine
T-Rex
1900 Park Fare

ETA: The baby wasn't sleeping at the time of check-in for any of these restaurants and we were also able to bring a stroller into every QS place we ate. - I'm not sure if there are any QS places that don't allow it, but if not, with a baby that age I just wouldn't eat there. It's just not worth the hassle when there are so many other places that do allow the stroller.

May isn't really all that slow. This is our usual time to go and most restaurants, regardless of overall crowd levels, stay pretty packed. The Plaza is pretty small and not likely to accommodate a stroller. We've had luck bringing even a double strollers into many other restaurants though.

We have been given an infant high chair at Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill when we took our youngest at 11 weeks old. We were also able to bring our stroller into Marrakesh, Le Cellier, and the Hoop Dee Doo.

not sure if this is true at all the restaurants. We had a 6 month old with us on our last trip and a CM at BOG told us that strollers were allowed in for sleeping children and babies that can't sit on their own.

It depends. And that is the rub. You have no way of knowing for sure ahead of time. In the past I have helped take turns holding a small baby that couldn't sit up on their own when we were not allowed to bring in their stroller. This is one of those plan for the worst hope for the best things.

also if allowed to bring in stroller be careful where it is parked as someone with wheelchair or ECV could have to get past and could bump causing baby to wake. mother was asked to move it as a, ECV was having to come past. she didn't want to move for fear of waking baby. as you guess I slightly hit a back wheel of stroller waking. mother was upset and was complaining that I was brought in a different way where their stroller was parked out of way. in no way was baby hurt by bumping stroller just wolke up

We brought our twins at 13 weeks. We were allowed to bring both strollers (two singles) in every restaurant. My two did sit in high chairs at 13 weeks a few times though actually. By 6 months your little one should be able to sit in a high chair with a prop. We used this a lot and it worked well in the wooden chairs. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40273197/
