I am trying to decide between the following restaurants:

Nine Dragon's
Le Cellier
Kona Cafe
Yak and Yeti

Which would you choose based on the quality of the food?

We are not using the dining plan and we have reservations at
California Grill and Yatchsman's Steakhouse for dinner. We also have several character breakfasts planned.

Well, you have some very varied choices on that list. Without knowing your family's tastes, I would say Kona or Yak and Yeti. Le Cellier has really gone downhill over the last few years, and you are eating at a GREAT steakhouse already, so I am pretty sure Le Cellier will be a letdown after Yachtsman... and Nine Dragons is just a chinese restaurant. It's a very good chinese restaurant, but if you are going for the pan asian thing I'd choose Yak and Yeti over Nine Dragons. Kona is a very nice all around restaurant and will probably get you the most bang for your buck since you are paying OOP.

BUT--

I would suggest another- Teppan Edo in Japan. If you've never done a Teppanyaki/Benihana type experience, it's a great family experience and the kids will be very entertained and the food is delicious! I think that it's a great choice for a family to keep kids (and adults) entertained, and the food is fresh and cooked right in front of you and it's just a very satisfying dining experience, in my opinion!

To us, Nine Dragons is like really expensive Chinese food that's better at your local Chinese restaurant, so we don't eat there. We are trying Kona Cafe for the first time during our upcoming trip because of the raves it usually gets. Haven't been to Yak and Yeti yet, but Le Cellier is a must for us on every trip - not for the steak, though. There are so many other great entrees to try (we're not big steak eaters). I usually get whatever pork they have on the menu with some grilled asparagus. DH always gets the mac and cheese as a side dish, and has enjoyed the filet mignon. DD picks something, then tastes a little bit from everyone's plates - and we all love the hot breadsticks, especially the pretzel ones.

Well, everyone has his own opinion, so you've got to take them all with a grain of salt...

Really disliked Nine Dragons as it was average, and compared to our local chinese restaurant, far below average. Authentic chinese should be a veggie-rich meal...

Le Cellier was good when we went in '05 but things change.

Kona Cafe has excellent quality food, good balance of meat, starch, veggies and delish! Great apps (yummy crabcakes!) great entrees and desserts and wonderful hawaiian bread and butter.
Seems like more leeway with drinks on the dining plan too.

Have not been to Yak & Yeti...

Hope you have a magical trip! :thumbsup2

You said you have a steak place, so I'd skip Le Cellier. Personally, I'd do Yak & Yeti or Kona. Honestly, though, I've never done ANY of the restaurants on your list. I'd drop Le Cellier because you have a steak place, and the Chinese restaurant because - while it might be very good - there are a lot of really good chinese restaurants. But Yak & Yeti are fairly unique to WDW and I think it's a part of your vacation you're likely to remember better than whether or not you got a great steak at Epcot.

From the ones you have listed you are going to I would think Kona and Yak and Yeti would be nice compliments to the others.

Wow..those are some hard choices! I really like Le Celler, Kona, AND Yak & Yeti. Yak & Yeti gets my vote. The place is so neat to eat at and the food has always been good for us.

Everytime we go to WDW we eat at the Polynesian, either Ohana's or Kona Cafe. You definitely can't go wrong with Kona Cafe. The food at this resort is the best! :yay:

I would say don't choose Nine Dragon's

go with 1 of these
Le Cellier is one of our must dos
Kona has really great food
Yak & Yeti we have ADR's for here in October and the menu looks great

I've only eaten at Le Cellier from your list. So I can only comment on that one.
It's, in a word, AWESOME. But very small and so extremely hard to get an ADR.

Good luck and have a blast! :goodvibes

I've only been to Le Cellier out of the ones listed. but if I could only chose ONE out of those four, I would still chose Le Cellier

I've only been to Kona and Le Cellier. I've heard Nine Dragons is not good, and Yak & Yeti is. But since you're already eating at a steakhouse, I say go for Kona.

I would recommend Kona or LC, noting in our opinion Kona edges out LC for quality-prepartation. Also for us, Kona would take it for atmosphere & seating too. Didn't care for the celliar atmosphere at LC, where I could also dine from the neighboring table, if I would of dared, with the tables pushed so close together. No joking here...

We had a great meal at 9 Dragons in '07 and a really wonderful meal at Y&Y in '08. I can recommend them both. Y&Y has a great brownie sundae! We haven't eaten at any of the other places on your list, though.

I love Kona!:lovestruc I just cancelled it for our Oct trip due to my kids wanting to go to Wolfgangs Puck's but I had it booked and was realy to go! I ate at Nine Dragons and said never again. Not great food, high priced and not a great setting. Le Cellier gets a thumbs up too, (we are going there in Oct)
