One of my co-workers was telling me about a Disney restauraunt where you can sit back near or in the kitchen and watch your meal prepared? She said it was a bit fancier, so I am thinking possibly a Signature restaurant? Just curious as to what and where it may be...

The Crystal Palace does something like this.

They do a live on-stage kitchen where you can watch. Not sure if that's the one you are talking about but it's the only one I've seen.

The Flying Fish on the Boardwalk has a Chefs Bar seating area which overlooks the kitchen. It was a ton of fun - the chefs really interacted with us the whole time, and it was neat to watch them preparing all of the meals.

Thanks for all the responses...Sounds like it may be Chef's Tabe at V&A as she told me there was a back-room that was especially for this.

I was watching a show on the Travel Channel on Disney and that's exactly what they were doing at the chef's table at Victoria and Albert's...looked pretty cool!

If you're referring to a pricier dining place, it's most likely Victoria and Alberts at Grand Floridian. Very fun to eat at the chef's table, but not as romantic as dining in the dining room. There's an extra charge and reservations don't come easily.

It is the chef's table at Victoria and Alberts. There is only one chef's table seating per night and it books up quickly at 6 months out. It is a great experience. If you are a foodie you will not regret having done it.. The chefs come talk to you, and you get a tasting menu of almost
everything on offer at V&As that night (menu changes nightly). It is $200, plus $95 for wine pairings.

When I called to make my chef's table reservation today (I got it! April 3! Woo hoo!), the woman from V&As told me that they just opened a new room, the Victoria Room, that has 4 tables and serves the same menu (ie the longer tasting menu) as at the chefs table, for the same price. This is for those that want the chefs table menu, but maybe in a more romantic setting.

I like the chefs table room though - it is a room off the kitchen where you can see everything, but you are still sitting at a nice table - its not in the kitchen or anything. I enjoy the interaction you get with the chefs table. The chefs will come explain the dishes, etc. It is great.

Either one you go for, you will have a great time! :thumbsup2

If there is a separate room it is likely Victoria & Alberts Chefs Table. (V&A is the only age restricted restaurant on Disney property. Diners must be age 10 or older.)

Jiko has an "open" kitchen area but diners can't view the full kitchen. They can see only the "Cooking Place" which is used to prepare appetizers.

It may very well be all the other places mentioned in the comments but also O'Hana's cooks in the middle as well as Japan you sit around the cook.:thumbsup2

This sounds like the chefs table. It is a really cool experience if you ever have a chance to see it.
