We had lunch at the Coral Reef on August 25th. I had made priority seating for the 4 of us. We ate there last year on vacation, loved it so much, now its one of our must do's.
The atmosphere is beautiful. A huge aquarium that runs the lengh of the walls, full of all kinds of fish. It was so relaxing. We were seated right up at the aquarium. During lunch a diver came in and fed the fish right in front of us.
I have read a lot of posts where poeple think the prices are high. The prices weren't bad for a sit down meal.
The waiter told us the menu had changed since last year. You won't find burgers here. It's really a specialty restaurant. My husband had the Surf and Turf. He had Steak (well done) Shrimp, mashed potatoes and vegetables. that was about 22 dollars. I had the Mahi Mahi, which was excellent. It was over mashed potatoes in this spicy sauce. (about 20 dollars) Very different from the pizza and burgers I was consuming all week. The kids had pepperoni pizza from the kids menu and an order of fries. We all had lemonade. And I ordered hot tea.
If you go, try the alligator sausage (had this last year) It was very tasty with the spices they use.
Last year they served you sourdough bread with butter. They now serve warm rolls and butter. I used my
AAA card for 10 % off and the bill came to 70 dollars.
We didn't think this was bad because we had lunch, twice, at Universal's Margarativille and the bill was 63.00 one day and 60.00 the next day.
I expected this to be the normal price for 4 people at sitdown restaurants and to save money we stayed in a Villa this year with a kitchen and had our breakfast in the room. We wanted our lunches in sitdown restaurants so we can get out the heat and relax a few. And in the evening we had dinner back at our Villa.
My husband didn't care for Epcot that much, except Test Track. But, all he talks about is the Coral Reel. It was one of the highlights of our vacation.
