I definitely have GF on my list but are there any other resorts that are a must?

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest the Epcot resorts. The lobbies of the Beach Club and Yacht Club are really nice to check out. The BWI has a small display as well. I like to tour them all.

I also think that the WIlderness Lodge is a lovely visit for Holiday season. If you are checking out the monorail resorts it is easy to take a ride to the WL during that time as well.

All the Deluxe resorts are INCREDIBLE around the holidays. I visited or ate at all of them. You can't go wrong. But you must visit The Grand Floridian for sure. They all have spectacular decorations and Christmas Trees, though. The Grand Floridan has the lifesize Gingerbread House and I forget which of the Epcot resorts also has something like that. Try to visit all of them if you can, honestly, you won't regret it.

My favorites during the Christmas season are:
Grand Floridian
Wilderness Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Beach Club
Swan/Dolphin

I was amazed at how detailed the holiday train display was at the Yacht Club. It is definitely worth the trip over there. The chocolate/gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club is gorgeous. The decorations at the Wilderness Lodge are beautiful. The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is beautiful. And the Animal Kingdom Lodge is lovely, too.

All of the deluxe resorts plus Swan/Dolphin are gorgeous. GFlo, Wilderness, and AKL are probably my top three. Then the Epcot area resorts. Poly was pretty, but not as decked out as some.

We'll be at WDW for Thanksgiving. Is that too early to see the resort Christmas decor?

The Yacht Club model train display doesn't get enough press. I didn't even know about except for someone's trip report. It was really cool. DH was really impressed, and he and his father are really into model trains.

If you can only do one, do Grand Floridian. It hurts my heart because frankly, against number 2, it's not quite as good... but it has the gingerbread house which is a must see, so that's the unique selling point.

My number two is Wilderness Lodge. There's frankly nothing special, decoration-wise, but the lobby features the token towering tree as well as the year-round fireplace and spots to sit. It really feels like you've stepped inside a Northwest ski lodge and it's as Christmas as it gets. Fort Wolderness is also great as the campers all decorate their campsite.

Honestly, all ththe Deluxes are great. You can probably skip Poly as it doesn't decorate much... the power rankings after GF and WL probably go:

- Beach Club
- Boardwalk
- Swan and Dolphin
- Contemporary
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Polynesian

Wilderness Lodge at Christmastime is one of the most Christmas-y things ever.

Any resort featuring a gingerbread showpiece is worth checking out, especially the Grand Floridian.

I'd never heard of this one before, now I've got to check it out!

It is worth the walk. The Beach Club has the carousel and that is amazing, but you should walk next door to the Yacht Club Lobby. The display is so wonderful, every detail perfect. I think that it is one of the most underrated Christmas displays.

thank you so much!!! Am so excited. Is it easy to get around the resorts using disney transportation as we are not renting a car?

Got to agree about the YC lobby & the train. It's not just a typical train around a tree. It's a miniature village/ ski resort with a train running thru it. Filled with Mickey & friends. Awesome!

Sure. Take the monorail around the MK resorts, from there you can take a boat to Wilderness Lodge. If you are in Epcot or at Disney Studios, you can walk or boat to the Epcot resorts from either one. The Epcot resorts are only a few minutes walk apart. If you aren't going to a park that day, just take a bus to one of the parks & go from there.
