I picked the Swan/Dolphin (though I am assuming you are not talking about spitting a stay between these two). I have never stayed at either, however I love the area - we usually stay at the Boardwalk and the location can't be beat IMHO - walk/boat to both Epcot and MGM. We stayed at WL and LOVED it, however we prefer the Epcot resort area because of the proximity to two parks. I am not a big fan of split stays; I like to get settled and not have to pack again until it is time to go home.

I picked AKL and WL b/c that is where I want to stay on our next trip! We are staying at POFQ starting next sunday and if i love it as much as I think I will, i may want to change that vote.

Sorry about that. Forgot to mention that this will be a solo trip.

I'm wondering if I should do the entire trip at one resort, then split the stay between POFQ & the Beach Club the following May. That may help take a bite of the cost for that trip.

I was also thinking of just spending the weekend at POFQ (Friday to Sunday), then transfer over to the WL for the rest of the stay (Sunday to the following Sunday). As this is over Thanksgiving weekend, am wondering if it would be better to stay at one. What do you think?

I just got back (yesterday) from a split stay at CSR and the WL. My Dh and I loved both hotels and enjoyed our split stay. It felt like I got two vacations in one. Changing hotels was not a big deal. Bell Services came and picked up our luggage at CSR. We went to the AK for the day and checked into the WL mid-afternoon. WDW did lose our luggage for a few hours but it was not a big deal. They found and delivered our luggage by dinner. I felt like they were making a effort to quickly locate our luggage and keep us informed. I would do a split stay again and recommend both hotels.

We really like changing resorts-- it's relatively painless. Our next trip will be a split between the POFQ and the WL, but I still chose the AKL and the WL split. If you've never been, those are two great properties!!

:sunny:

I picked POFQ and WL because we are staying at POFQ this month and WL in April so obvioulsy those two resorts appeal to me! To me they seem to get good reviews overall and they both seem like a good value for the money. Good luck with your choice!

Called AAA to see what the cost would be to stay at the WL for the entire stay and was told it would be $450 more than what was quoted for the split stay. Decided to split the stay as that's $$ that can be used for souvies and such.

Am going to split the stay between AKL & WL for the trip the following year.

The ambiance is definitely resort quality!
We chose a cabin over Deluxe-Concierge for our blow-out celebration trip in January because it IS so much groovier than a hotel room! I'm bettin' some of the other resort (OKW, YC, etc.) home-away-from-home lovers would also want to chime in.
Shake up yer paradigum folks! :rotfl2:
*EDIT*EDIT*EDIT*
 Oops! -- Didn't realize the poll was created by a fellow DIS'er trying to figure out where to stay (A DUH! moment for me!). sooooo..... my weak affirmation would be for WL cause their food's good, the lobby's nice, and you guessed it! It's close to FORT WILDERNESS!!!! My apologies for letting my fingers type before my mind was engaged!
