My DH and DD and I have been to WDW twice in the past two years. The first time we stayed at CBR and last Oct2001 we stayed at POR. We loved them both - for very different reasons. I think that I am partial to POR and would be very happy to return there.
My DH wants to try something new. We like the moderates but are thinking that we might be brave enough to try a deluxe (the Canadian dollar being as it is - brave is the word you have to use when you get your bills!).
Anyway, I have to weight the costs because of the exchange so am leaning toward either the AKL or WL because there seems to be more discounts available. My DH keeps mumbling Poly...Poly...Poly but I can't seem to get my mind around the costs.
Any comments or suggestions. If I wanted to choose a more moderately priced deluxe...which one would you choose.

Thanks!!

It is awesome!!! We just returned from a three night stay at AKL (5/21-5/23) and it was great! When it came time to switch resorts to the BC, we didn't want to because we were loving AKL so much! We usually stay at the moderates too, but with our daughters begging to try AKL (and with the great rate that we got), we just couldn't pass it up...we will definitely stay there again...there is just nothing quite like waking up to beautiful giraffes right outside your window...we actually saw more animals at AKL than we did at Animal Kingdom itself...and they were soooo close...even if you don't have a savannah view, there are so many places throughout the resort to view the animals from.

While I am sure WL is a wonderful resort, I too would vote for AKL. It is just a truly unique experience to stay there. I am not sure where abouts in Toronto you are, city or suburbs, but WL is lots of pine trees and very northern feel. Kind of like home for you (?). AKL has some great rates and is just a wonderful resort. CR is probably the cheapest deluxe right now. How old is DD? Would being on the monorail be a big plus? (ie does she use a stroller?) Then it might make sense to stay at CR or Poly. Of course all the deluxes are wonderful. Figure out what your budget max for hotel is and then figure out which ones fit the bill. Don't go higher than what your comfortable with, because all of them are quite wonderful in their own right. (But I still say you've got to try AKL at least once!)

Have they run out of rooms they are offering under the "at par" code (mousesavers) for Canadians? The worse the Canadian dollar the better for you!

I'd check it out!
