We have three boys - ages 10, 8, and 4. We've stayed at the All Star Sports and Port Orleans Riverside. We'd like something new. I have read and read threads about different resorts but don't know enough about Disney World to decide. I've never visited any other resorts. So, which is your favorite and why?

WL is an awesome resort, but can't fit 5 in one room. Maybe you would like to try the FW cabins? There is a kitchen, outdoor grill and you get a separate bedroom. You would be close to MK, and it is more affordable than two rooms at a mod or deluxe.

Good idea!!:thumbsup2 We loved the FW cabins when we went with a group. The ages for the boys would be perfect. You get to drive around in a golf cart (if you pay for it of course - WORTH IT and FUN), lots of outdoorsy activities (obviously:rolleyes1 ), and lots of room to roam, explore and run.

I would choose the All Star Family Suites. The master area has a Queen size bed and the 3 boys can each sleep in their own fold out bed in the living area . Plus the kitchemette has a fridge, a coffeepot, and a microwave for small meals or snacks!

All Star Music is my Favorite Disney owned resort.
It tends to quietest and most relaxing of the value resorts.
DH and I enjoy relaxing by the pools and seeing the resort lit up at night.
All Star Music also has more landscaping, trees, and greenery than the other values. I love the rose garden by the Broadway section of ASMU :

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Note: there is no extra fee for extra adults in a Family Suite.
1-6 adults can stay in a Family Suite at the regular rate.
The values charge $10 extra a night for each additional adult .
(only 2 adults are included in the room rate.)

AAA now has dicounts on the Family Suites.
Codes and other discounts have also been offered.
Keep your eyes open for specials!

Remember a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.
The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz buildings. Those buildings are the buildings which are nearest to the main pool ,food court and bus stop.
That means less walking to and from your room!

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
The sofa folds out and sleeps two. Both the chair and ottoman also fold out into a twin bed and each sleep 1 person.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

I would have to say any deluxe that will hold 5. The pool at BC/YC would be a huge hit. Or the All Stars Family Suites. My cousin and her 3 boys and DH stayed there last trip and she has not stopped talking about it. I think you would have to run the numbers but my guess is the suite is less money.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot about the All Star Suites. They didn't have those when we went last time. That's a good idea.
