Meant to put this up yesterday but got a little busy....

So, of the two choices (Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge), which resort do you guys prefer to visit on your non-park time? Or do you never visit the resorts while at the Fort?

If you feel like giving a reason why, go right ahead!!!

I like to take the boat to CR (and it's usually the first stop). Then if we need to travel further, we can hop on the monorail. I enjoy a bike ride on the path to WL! :thumbsup2

I voted for Wilderness Lodge, only because that is the only resort the BIG boat goes to, and since DH is in a wheelchair we can't get on the Contemp. boat.

Wilderness Lodge for DH and I, Contemporary for DS {arcade}.

The Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey's then the monorail to the Magic Kingdom!:goodvibes

I myself was kind of torn on this one. I mean, my knee jerk reaction is the Contemporary, mainly because of the arcade, the Outer Rim, the monorail, the ability to walk to the Magic Kingdom.

However, in the Christmas months, the Wilderness Lodge is much better when it's nice and cold outside. You can sit by the fire, head out and see the geyser blow, and I love checking out all the decorations.

I ended up going with the Contemporary though, because in the end, I think it would be the place I would go to more often.

Before they ripped out the Food n' Fun Center, when I was tent camping, the Contemporary was always my morning breakfast stop. Now that I've got the camper, I just have a light breakfast from my own kitchen before heading out.

For our October trip, hubby will be along and he wants eggs and bacon first thing in the morning and he uses an ECV, so I guess it'll be a bus to Roaring Forks first thing in the morning.

I voted for Wilderness Lodge. We go to the Fort in December and I think that the WL is just beautiful. I honestly am not a huge fan of the Contemporary. I feel like I am in an airport. Our last trip we ate at Concourse Steakhouse and it was great. Too bad they are closing it. I also loved the scene they had done with Pinnochio(sp?). That was really cool. But in general I would pick the WL.

I'm not a fan of the Contemporary either. Too square. lol

But, I LOVE the Wilderness Lodge! I'm from Minnesota, and it reminds me of the North Shore. :goodvibes

I voted for WL because it is the one I prefer to visit, I really like the theme of it. But if you ask which one we go to more it would be the Contemporary. My kids love the monorail and Chef Mickeys. After our last trip DS4 (he was 2 at the time) didn't tell people he went to Disney, he told them he had dinner with Mickey!

Yea, as far as checking out the resort itself, the Lodge is much better, I agree wholeheartedly. To me it's one of, if not the, best themed resorts in all of Disney.

My parents work in Montana during the summers at Glacier National Park, and they work in East Glacier, so they spend a lot of time in or near the Glacier resort (which is entirely held up by humungous timber). It reminds me of that, although on a much smaller scale.

I voted for the Wilderness Lodge. We stayed at CR when we got engaged & went there this past Christmas on our monorail tour to see the decorations. But I remember the first time we took my step-son into WL. He was 2 & was just in awe of it. pixiedust: I can't wait to take my boys there in May to see their faces. Maybe we'll go have breakfast over there one morning.:goodvibes

I agree that I enjoy WL much more than CR...but as far as taking the boat, I really like that ride to CR. We really enjoying riding bikes over to WL....only problem is finding somewhere to park them!

Leave it to me to make a simple poll difficult. I chose Contemporary because the word "boat" was in the question. But we prefer visiting the Wilderness Lodge best via our bikes. :thumbsup2

Yea, I figured some people would ride their bikes, but to make it fair I thought I would use the common transporation system...lol

Most of this morning it seemed most people went to the Wilderness Lodge, but the Contemporary has been picking up some steam late in the afternoon!

I voted WL- it is always one of our first places to visit on check in day - we generally have lunch at Roaring Forks.

But now that I think about it, I think I do like hanging-out at the Contemporary more. We love riding the monorail, just for the sake of riding it especially when we're the Co-Pilots. I always ask the pilot how he steers it, and twice, the answer was "with my seat" :confused3
