We will be staying onsite one night this fall to get our "Disney fix" but will not have park tickets. We want to reserve a character breakfast or lunch to get some photos/autographs but are limited to resorts only. We are not very picky eaters and will be able to find something as far as food goes anywhere so we are mainly basing our decision on character interaction/numbers. Which breakfast or lunch would you recommend? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!! :)

I find them to all be fairly similar but the one that we find the most fun is 1900PF Dinner. If the Step Family is there. It's even more fun if you have a little boy in the group. They go ga-ga over them

The only resort breakfast we did was Cape May, but we loved it. The food was good and we had great character interaction. My DDs loved dancing with the characters to the surf music. And my Minnie obsessed 4 year old loved seeing her in her swim suit

We just did the same thing, and Cape May. We enjoyed it and it was great for pics. Plus you can hang out at the BoardWalk!

I haven't done 'Ohana for breakfast, but another great resort to visit.

For character variety I would do 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. You usually get a mix of Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, and Mary Poppins characters there. At Cape May Cafe you only get Minnie, Donald, and Goofy.

Cape May is fun, but has less characters than the others. (Maybe 3 instead of 5?) So if you're looking for numbers, that's not your choice.

The rest all have around 5 characters. I would make your choice based on the type of characters you want to see (traditional Disney characters? Pooh characters? princesses?) and location (in park versus out of park). Character interaction varies greatly depending on the people playing the roles that day. No 2 days will be the same.

I agree 1900 PF is the most fun character meal, but you asked about breakfast or lunch. I like most of them but don't have a hands down favorite. I love starting the day in the castle, but if you're not into princesses, that's not going to do the trick.

As far as the best experience, I would go with Chef Mickey's at the CR hands down... you see usually Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto (I think... I've been several times and can't remember if they were the same every time). It's a buffet and the character's come around to your table. They also do a group song several times and everyone swings their napkin in the air and participates. Have fun!!

For breakfast, we have done 1900 Park Fare (Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins) and Ohana (Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Lilo, & maybe other fab 5 that I am missing). We like 1900 Park Fare, and it's become a tradition for us. The food is good and probably similar to the other buffets. We didn't like the Ohana breakfast food as much. The characters at Park Fare are great, particularly the Mad Hatter.

Our favorite is Chef Mickey for the characters, but the food at 1900 PF is better. Mad Hatter is pretty funny.

Thanks for all the input! Does Ohana usually have Minnie along with Mickey, Lilo, Stitch, and Pluto? We visited a couple years ago and only saw the 4 characters, no Minnie. I prefer the buffet style breakfast of Park Fare or Cape May to family style at Ohana but if Mickey and Minnie are at Ohana that would be my DD's choice for sure!

No. Usually 'Ohana is just Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. I don't recall ever seeing Minnie there.
