Need to rent a car to get to DL and wondering which car rental agency is better Alamo, Thirfty, or Dollar. I am getting good rates on all for a premium.

Alamo -Pontiac Bonneville
Thrifty-Chrysler Concord
Dollar-Chrysler 300

Thanks for your assistance.

I'd say they are about the same. Alamo's cars are right in the MCO terminal area, you need to take a shuttle to Thrifty.

Before driving out, inspect the car carefully, making note of every scratch, dimple, cigarette burn, etc. Make sure the spare tire and tools and jack are there in the trunk.

Thanks SeashoreCM. Wish we were going back to WDW:( but we are going to Disneyland.

Thanks also for your rental hints. Much appreciated:).

We have never used Dollar but have used Alamo and Thrifty extensively. Alamo is onsite, which is convenient, but they tend to have long lines and many of the agents will hard-sell the insurance and try to trick you into taking it. That's not a problem for me because I am very assertive. And sometimes the line is non-existent...it's hard to predict.
Thrifty is offsite but typically less crowded. If you go with them, sign up for Blue Chip so you can bypass the main counter and use the Blue Chip line. We just rented from them, and with Blue Chip there was no insurance pressure (at the regular counter, they're usually not bad but I did get an agent who copped an attitude when I didn't take it once). Their shuttle service is really prompt and they're not far outside the North Exit of the airport. They also upgraded us a couple of car classes on the last rental.

Thanks for your response. With the insurance my DH is all for the rental car company's insurance :( due to if you get into an accident it doesn't effect your regular car insurance. Right now we are planning on renting a car from Tucson AZ and drive it to Anaheim CA (DL) and the insurance just to get the car is approx $150 plus Tucson has all those fee's attached to it:(. So the car itself rents about $100 with all fees and insurance we are paying $300 for full size and $380 for premium:(. We normally fly but DH doesn't want that this time due to the airport has Super Shuttle and they are just like Mears:(. We cannot take our normal car due to its to small for 3 large 6ft guys in the car:(. My son who is stationed in Japan w/Navy is coming home in March and he wants to go to DL when he gets home:).

If i read correctly you are going to dl we just came back from la and we rented from dollar with a good rate for 7 days 89 with taxes for a intermediate. No rental car agencies are in lax you have to take a shuttle to them. We joined fastlane and had no wait in line. From the time we got our bags, got on the shuttle and to dollar then to our car it was about 15-20 mins. Not bad considering the traffic in LA. Speedy drop off service many of buses waiting to take you back to the airport. Would highly recommend dollar at lax. Great service

Thanks for your quick response. I think we did Budget like that on another trip to CA when we flew into LAX and we had fastlane or what ever that was. It was fast and quick and no hassles. Loved it. Wished we were doing that this time (flying and then renting a car) but DH wouldn't do that its too expensive:(. We just came back from WDW and my son from Japan called us and said when he comes back into the states he wants to go to DL. We couldn't say no due to $$.

when i arrived alamo had 4 people in line i was in and out in less tehn 8 minutes
