Which Plan?

We had about decided to do the CS meal plan. When we started deciding on which characters meals to pay OOP, it seemed to be so many I don't know which plan to chose now. If we do 3 character meals to make everyone happy, and we are staying 7 or 8 nights, which would be a better deal? There are 4 adults and 1 child. I think we should still go with the CS meal plan but I guess I just wanted more opinions. Most of the character meals we picked out were at least 30 each. What do you all think?

What other TS places would you go to if you pick the DDP? If you pick some of the more expensive ones then the regular plan might work better.

What kind of eaters are you? Would you be able to share 2 CS for breakfast and then 2 CS for lunch? Then a TS for dinner? Or would you like to eat some cereal some mornings in the room so that you have CS meals for lunch or dinner and the TS for the other meal?

I'm in the same boat. We have 3 buffet TS restaurants booked, and would really rather just eat when we're hungry for the rest of them. But I'm leaning towards a dining plan in any case because my daughter will be 10 when we return next year -- she's the gymnast type, and I can't see her eating adult meals for at least another 5 years (shouldn't the parents get to choose what size of meal their child can eat?)

The DDP just wouldn't work for us because we are attending a competition at WWS for 2 days of the trip (it only has QS), but with the 3 TS ADRs, it would seem a waste to get QSDP. I have heard that it might be possible to have some of the TS meals changed to QS at the front desk of your resort if the staff are willing and having a great day, but has anybody ever heard of somebody successfully getting this done?

They allow it during Free Dining because the restaurants are packed.

I haven't heard of anyone being able to do this at any other time.

I really enjoyed having one sit down meal each day. The late lunches and early dinners were nice-cool down and get out of the sun.

I personally like to have at least one TS meal a day. That way too, I can do character meals for the kids and that way too, we don't spend lots of time in line waiting for autographs..good luck:)

i like the regualr dining plan. After a long day of walking around the parks, its nice to know you have a place to eat, and sit down at inside. The Character meals are awesome, but there are other cool places without characters too. if you dont think you can eat a QS and a TS in one day, you can do what we do. Eat the QS early in the afternoon, sometimes we do it like 11. and then make your TS later at night. like 8 or so. If you do get hungry, you always have that snack.

If you miss a day or two of TS, or miss an ADR, what can be from the unused credits from TS?

It will cost you $70 more per adult to upgrade to the Basic DP. It will cost at least $90 more to have the QS plan and pay or 3 Character meals. Pretty simpl math for me, buy the Basic DP. Even if you didn't use 4TS credits you'd spend less money. We know you won't waste 4 TS credits.

Beaches and Cream and ESPN club don't take ADRs so you could wing it if you don't want to plan and go there.

Also DTD is another great place to use your TS credits if you miss one of your planned TS.
