I love them all. But... #1 takes the cake imho. Ofcourse I am biased in that I saw #1 during a difficult time in my life, my mom was dying of cancer, and I badly needed a laugh. POTC #1 gave me that.

I have to go with number 1. From there on, things seemed to get weird with a lot of leaning toward the dark side. I like to see a pirate movie without a lot of monsters, not a monster movie with a pirate theme.
