Which Pirates of the Caribbean movie do you like best?

Here's your chance to vote for which of the 3 Pirates movie you thought was the best.

My vote goes for the first one -Curse of the Black Pearl. I really liked the story, the introduction of the characters, the quirks of Captain Jack, the comedy and it left it open for so many possibilities. Unfortunately I didn't care too much for the 2nd or 3rd ones. I thought they took the story in too many weird directions, and Captain Jack's mannerisms started getting old after too long, and they took out most of the humorous elements that helped make the first one so good.

I guess I would put them in this order:

1) Curse of the Black Pearl (#1)
2) At World's End (#3)
3) Dead Man's Chest (#2)

i cant decide! i love them all and story lines. cant wait for the fourth!

however perhaps you can answer this for me...caught number 3 the other nite on the movie station and at the end of the credits there was a boy with elizabeth at the age of ten and will sailing in to see them...have you or anyone seen this or was this a directors cut?

It's funny, I don't recall seeing that when we first rented the movie from Block Buster (of course it's possible we just didn't finish watching the credits). But I did see it when it came on HBO.
So unfortunately I really don't know if it was added or if it was always there.

Yeah, you had to be one of those people who stays 'til the end of the credits to see if there's anything after. I, clearly, am one of those people.

I LOVED the first one and didn't care for the other two, for reasons already cited by the OP.

I really like the all, but I like the third one the most. It really enjoyed the humor in World's End. I also liked the extra characters added for that film. I'm really looking forward to number four!

Liked the second one.
Didn't care for the third one because it turned into the Elizabeth Swann show.

Hopefully the fourth will be more like the first.

thanks guys! i never even saw the third in the theater...asked for it last xmas, dh got it for his bday instead so we've never watched the dvd to the end of the credits...now i'll have to dig it out and watch it!

Black Pearl, hands down. Fantastic movie all around. The other two, not so much. (I still enjoy the other two, they are just in no way even in the same league as the first. The first was just magical on all levels for that type of movie.)

Nuff Said I could watch the first one over and over. I have no problem passing on the other too. A shame really.

I liked all of them pretty much the same. The third holds a special place in my heart because I watched its premier on the Disney Wonder.

I love all of them, but I like At World's End just a tiny bit more than Dead Man's Chest, which I liked a tiny bit more than Curse of the Black Pearl. CotBP was fun and awesome, but I like a bit more darkness and complexity, which I got in DMC and AWE.

not sure if there was a confirmation, but i read something on here on the rumors board....soemthing about them wanting to get alice in wonderland- with johnny depp as the mad hatter- shot first then theyd do potc4...supposed to be him and balbosa and the search for the fountain of youth....no will and elisabeth tho as both actors said they would not return for a fourth.

According to IMDB, it is in development. I also saw an interview with Johnny Depp where he confirmed that he would be doing POTC4.

I like the 3rd the best, but I love them all. I actually never watched them until last August, and by Christmas I had all 3 DVDs. I really, really liked them!
