Which parks for young kiddos?

Does anyone else plan which parks they will visit each day of their trip? If so, can you tell me what they are in order of importance? This is our first trip, but it's going to be a short one. Just 4 days. The kids on the trip will be 7, 6, 3 & 2. What would they enjoy the most? I'm guessing Magic Kingdom. If there was one to skip this time around, which would it be? Anyway, I know nothing about any of the parks. Can you help?

The first choice is obviously MK, that is probably followed closely by AK & MGM & Epcot. Whether your child enjoys AK more than MGM will be directly proportional to their love of animals. Our DD6 dreams to be a vet so she loves AK, our DD9 is somewhat indifferent (seen one bird, monkey, fish etc) and you've seen them all. She prefers Epcot for rides and interactive exhibits.

All of the parks have great rides, attractions things to do for children of all ages. I think you'll have to go to each park and see how your children react. Everyone will have their own favourites.

epcott really has nothing for the young ones. Yes they can vist different lands and color however they can color at home. The only thing my 5/3 can do at epcott is honey I shrunk the audience. :thumbsup2

Personally, if I had to skip one it would be MGM. My kids were bored senseless there at 2 and 5. However, DH adores it, and we're hoping they've grown into it, so we're going this trip. MK and AK are super for little ones, and ours liked many of the rides in Future World of Epcot.

Good to know. Thank you. AK and MK are definite for us. Where can I read a little summary about each park? Is that possible somewhere? Sorry, I'm a newbie.

My kids are 4 and 5 and love all the parks. I think they prefer MGM to MK. They are both power rangers fiends and would go to MGM every day just to see them. They also love the safari in AK. Epcot has a lot more to do than color. Soarin is awsome The new Nemo stuff inthe living seas is very much geared towards young kids. Many of the areas in innoventions are kid freindly. The 2 older kids in your group would love Test Track.

My 2 and 5 year olds loved all the parks. Epcot has a lot more than just coloring. MK would be my first choice. The other three are equally fun. I wouldn't want to skip any of the parks.

Check out www.allearsnet.com -- I'm new to the whole Disney thing too, but this website, the all ears net site and Birnbaum's books have been really helpful.

We are going to all parks and are using the park hopper in case we decide to not spend the whole day at one place. I think my kids will really enjoy the shows at MGM as well as the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playland. I think we will have a blast at all the parks, we are not doing the water park thing.

Good luck and have fun!

Definitely definitely the Magic Kingdom. Then Animal Kingdom, then MGM, and then Epcot.

I know I'm in a major minority here, but with that short of a trip & being the first trip, I would not start with MK. MK is "the" park of WDW and all the other parks might be a let down for your 7 & 6 yo if you start with MK.

If you are going to do all the parks, I (personally) would start with Epcot, go on to AK, the MGM and end with MK. Epcot has the least going on as far as rides. It can be a big let down/bore to do in a short trip if you do it later. AK (my kids favorite park, btw) is a nice switch, a few rides, but more shows & exhibits. MGM will start to introduce them into more "going-ons" and MK is the crowning glory.

I wouldn't attempt all 4 parks in only 4 days. I'd probably skip Epcot in a short trip (least for kids & my kids least favorite park). I'd do AK first. If you have park hoppers, I'd then finish with MGM if you have time (you can do each of those parks in a half day if you don't savor what is going on). Day #2 I'd do MGM. If you hit MGM on the first day also, do a half day and then move on to MK. Day #3 would be MK and day #4 would be going back to whatever park your kids want to experience again. Probably MK, as that has the most & it really takes 2 days to do it well.

If you go to www.disneyworld.com there is a section that will say something like "choose your experience" or "something for everyone". If you choose the preeschooler part, they will list all the activities that your kids can do at all of the parks.
