Which park on what day? Help!

My son and I will be at Disneyland/CA on Fri June 12, Sat June 13, and Sun June 15. I'm getting the CityPass with the park hopper tickets and one day EE (which would be Saturday, I believe). My thought was to do one park per day and one day where we go back and forth.

My plan at WDW is usually to avoid the park that has EE or do the early entry and 'hop' to another park since that park tends to be the most crowded.

Any suggestions how to do this at Disneyland would be greatly appreciated. :)

Here is a big thread all about Magic Mornings (newer name for Early Entry). If you have access to MM and you want to visit Fantasyland or ride Nemo, you definitely want to take part in it! It would be Saturday or Sunday for you...it's offered on the S and T days.

While many people avoid the EMH park at WDW, even if they have access to the EMH, at Disneyland, you don't have to avoid the whole park. Why? Because MM is basically for Fantasyland and a smidge of Tomorrowland...not the whole park. So you would not want to walk into Fantasyland at normal opening time, when tons of people have already been there for the hour of MM, b/c you're going to have big lines. You would want to visit FL first thing on a NON-MM morning.

So taht's the only sort of avoidance you need to do on the days you don't have access to MM.

As for what park what day...figure out what you want to do and see, figure out when those things are and where they are, and go from there. YOu'll be amazed at how easy it is to "hop", and you might find yourself hopping every day!

They keep changing the name of the morning program - I can never keep up! LOL

Thanks for the advice. I'm off to read the big thread about it. And I do remember that it's easier to hop at DL/DCA than at WDW because the parks are so close - so you never know we might do that. I'm just having some planning issues since I can't find any calendar/schedules for June. Maybe I'm just trying to do this too early?

You can easily hop from DCA - DL and DCA - DL since they are right across the plaza from each other. I cant really suggest which day to do which park, but you dont have to stay in that one park, you can always hop over.

If you want to do Nemo Submarine Adventure (that is not its actual name, I forget its name) you should get to Disneyland early because otherwise the line fills up and its long throughout the day.

My opinion is hit DL early in the day, DCA as DL gets crowded, and then DL in the evening or after DCA closes. This method tends to work better for most people since you tend to avoid the midday crowds in DL but still get a lot accomplished.

Park hopping with long admission lines is maybe 15 minutes. If you hit the right time its more like 5 minutes. It's a huge difference between WDW hopping that takes an hour and cuts into major park time, DLR hopping is like crossing a street with no cars :)

FWIW, here is a calendar from last June: :goodvibes

I would recommend seeing the fireworks on your first night (Friday). Unlike WDW (where the fireworks are almost never cancelled), the fireworks at DL can be cancelled due to winds aloft. If the fireworks are cancelled on Friday night, then you could probably go see the second Fantasmic (the Fantasmic show is not as sensitive to winds aloft).

HTH :earsboy:

Thanks for all your advice! I think our plan will be to do DL in the morning, then move over to DCA for a bit before heading back to hotel for a break. Then it's out again to DL in the evening. Though I suppose one day will would have to be at DL earlier to get FP for Soarin an ToT :)

Thanks SS Columbia for the calendar!

I think that's a great basic plan for visiting the two parks. :thumbsup2

& I'm guessing you know that Soarin' & TOT is in DCA (not DL). :)

& remember that TOT can often be ridden during the week (during the day) with little to no line (& it's next to the Hyperian Theatre which is where the "must see" Aladdin performance is).

Also, if you don't snag a FP for Screamin' (a great rollercoaster), it's a good attraction to ride in the quick single rider line (ask the cm at the entrance)..... I often do the "hound's screamin' two step" where my kid rides the carousel next door while i get my Screamin' fix in by doing the quick singles line. :3dglasses
