Which park is better on the weekends?

I keep reading in various threads, “avoid HS on the weekends, it’s small and will be crowded”, “avoid Epcot on the weekends, especially during a festival, it’ll be crowded and you’ll get all the locals there to drink [🤪]”, “avoid MK on the weekends, it’ll swarming with little kids”….

You catch my drift.

For our 10 nights stay we will probably have a total of three weekend days that need to be filled. One will be one of the rest days.

So what’s the advice on which park for weekends?

I've done AK on weekends and it's not too bad. TBH I'll do any park on a weekend except for Epcot. It really is a zoo because of the locals coming for the festivals and the "drinking around the world" schtick.

Years ago MK used to be empty on Sunday mornings, not sure that is still the case. I have AK reserved for Saturday morning my next trip. Epcot during festivals is usually OK in the morning, but later afternoon and evenings world showcase will be packed. (We have hoppers and use them!)

We usually visit every few years around Thanksgiving coming in the Friday before and leaving the Sunday after so probably over the years have been to every park on a weekend at some point and have never found it any more crowded than the rest of the days of the holiday week. We always make ADRs and FPs when they had them and did Genie+ our last trip and find it manageable. I would pick what works best with your schedule.

We visit several times/year, usually a winter visit, spring break, summer and occasionally into fall. I have found that we will do any park on a weekend, my least favorite park to tour on a Fri-Sat-Sun is Epcot but we do it if that's one of our days and it's manageable. DHS is busy all the time and tbh, I don't feel like day of the week matters, it's more about the other driving factors like park hours, special events, season, etc. AK, would go any day and don't feel like that park is really ever that crowded outside of peak season. MK, my most avoided day is Monday for MK but we have no issues visiting MK on most weekend days. As with anything, having a park plan and overall touring style that's not extremely militant will lend itself to having a better, more enjoyable trip. I usually will plan for us to have a midday break either heading to the resort or eating a sit down meal at an off time to get us out of the crowds. But we'll do that on weekdays too.

If it's a party season weekend, go to MK on a party day, avoid the saturdays during party season because most people with one park per day tickets will prefer non party days.
Epcot's crowds are now weird because Ratatouille re-distributed them.

Pre-Rat, the world showcase wasn't really a zoo until after 5 during the week, but i've been during F&G on week days the past 2 years, and they were definitely heavier than in the pre-Rat days and I personally wouldn't want to do Epcot on a festival weekend.

I don't think day of the week matters for DHS.

AK, i think weekend days might be lighter? The park doesn't have as many operational hours in the day, and those days tend to be travel days so most people with one park a day tickets won't typically use an entry at AK on a travel day.

Agree with this assessment. And, now that they have a festival at EPCOT nearly year-round, it really is a good park to avoid on the weekends, if possible.
