Which online e-mail site do you prefer?

Our current e-mail address is tied to our cable provider. I expect that we will be leaving them in them within the next year and want to begin establishing new a e-mail address now. What sites, other than gmail, do you use and like? I don't want to use gmail because they claim ownership and reading rights of all email and sell targeted ads based on them.

I like gmail. They have a lot of other stuff like a way to call long distance for free through your phone to a landline

I use Outlook Mail, Yahoo Mail and Gmail. Of the three, Gmail is my favorite. Yahoo is my least favorite.

I use outlook (used to be hotmail,) yahoo, aol and gmail. I use them for different reason - one is for "friends" - one for "shopping" - one for "newsletters, contests" I really don't think one is better, pretty much the same. Yahoo might be my least favorite.

I know you said "besides gmail" but seems that a lot of us like gmail! I have at least 3 gmail accounts, and am able to check all of the email at one address, because I was able to forward it to the one account. I used to have a Yahoo acct, but that one wouldn't forward to any other account, and it was kind of a pain, so I stopped using it. I still have a hotmail acct, but that's the email acct I've had the longest, so I wil probably hang onto that until hotmail disappears. I also have this feeling of "unlike" w/ my cable provider so I rarely use that email address. I forwarded those emails to one of my other email addresses and stopped giving it out years ago but I'm still w/ them. Just in case there is a sudden departure, because once you close your acct w/ the cable provider, your email is cut off. Good luck!

I have gmail, yahoox2, a isp yahoo mail addy. I use yahoo the most but I've had FOREVER. my gmail is used by my dad and few others.

I use gmail because I am just used to it. I am not sure it is any better than anything else, it is just what I happened to choose.

OP here - I edited my original post to say that I don't want to use gmail because of their policy of ownership over my content and selling my information to their advertisers. That bugs me.

I've had a Yahoo account forever; I like it well enough. used to have a hotmail, but it seemed like I got way too much hot mail there (spam!), so I dumped that.

I have a couple of gmail accounts (1 personal, 1 for work), and there are a lot of similarities between Yahoo and gmail. they are both fine.
