We are planning a cruise for Fall 2020. We can go anytime from September thru December. So based off the boards I decided on a Merrytime instead of Halloween. But I need some help deciding the ship and itinerary. Help me out.

Wonder- Merrytime from Galveston
Fantasy- Merrytime from Canaveral.

Demographics: 2 adults husband and wife. DVC members.

Q1.Merrytime on Disney Fantasy or Wonder?

Q2.5 day Castaway double dip on Wonder? Or 6 day Fantasy?

I think this depends so much on what you want to do. What is it you want from this vacation? If you are beach people, hands down pick the Castaway Cay double dip--that beach is beautiful and perfect. If you want to spend a lot of time on the ship doing classes or hanging out at the spa and pool, the Wonder may be a good option because it has the most sea days. If you like doing excursions or exploring new places, the 6-night fantasy is probably the bet because it has more ports (3 versus the 2 ports on the other cruises), and Grand Cayman and Cozumel are more interesting destination, in my opinion, than Key West or Nassau.

Also, I'm not sure where you are located, but factor in travel to Galveston vs Orlando to see what is better for you. Being DVC members, that might give a bonus to the Fantasy cruises since you could use points for a pre-cruise night at WDW. But if you could, say, drive to Galveston versus having to fly to Orlando or vice versa, that could make a big difference to cruise budget.

I've been on both, personally I like the shows and Tiana's Place on the Wonder more than the shows on the Fantasy. The Fantasy has the aquaduck, mini-golf, and the detective agency game. These are all fun to do, they aren't on the Wonder, so also think about if you'd want to do them. I would also rather go to CC twice than any other ports. If you're not a relax at a beach person, you may feel different. There's also a lot of other fun activities to do at CC. We did a mojito tasting at one of the bars there on our last cruise, it was a lot of fun.

Just thought of one more thing. Going to CC on the Wonder is great because there's like, 1000 less passengers than when you go there on the Dream/Fantasy. Since you're adults only you'll be able to go to Serenity Bay beach, so you wouldn't be as crowded there as those who have to go to the family beaches.

Thanks for the replys. We live in Oklahoma. Would you give up a day to do a double dip? The double dip is 5 days the others are 6. Also I forgot to include that we will be sailing with Disney for the first time on the Magic in April 2020. I just thought I might put in a little OT to surprise my hubs for Christmas. He’s not a beach guy but we’ve also never experienced Castaway.

I live in Ohio now, but grew up in Enid, OK. Went to OU. Hope you are safe from all the flooding. Anyway, normally I would always go with a longer cruise, we've done 5 so far, all 7nights. However, a double dip to CC would sway me to do the 5 over the 6.

Cool I went to OSU but danced there with a girl from Enid. Oh the flooding...we are good (Tulsa) buts it’s been a roller coaster with the constant tornados. Wow, CC must be really good to sway you from an extra night. It’s is a bit less expensive than the 6 something to think about.

I would do the one leaving out of Galveston because there are more Sea Days and there will be lots of fun holiday activities to do on those days. I love Castaway Cay, but I wouldn't sacrifice a day of cruising just to go twice in one cruise.
