Which one is better- based on the food ONLY!

Whispering Canyon...no doubt!

I found Chef Mickeys to be great for kids who want to be with their favorite characters, but the food is just typical buffet food you'd find anywhere...

Whispering Canyon, has good choices in their menu... ***I love the All you can eat platter*** and the waiters make the place so fun!

:hippie:

Whispeing Canyon has better food the only advantage to Chef Mickeys might be the variety because it is buffet but food quality definately goes to Whispering Canyon

I would agree with the other posters! We had both CM and WCC, and CM dinner is terrible! We all enjoyed the WCC, actually ate there twice two years ago and enjoyed our meal a lot. I have heard lukewarm comments recently on the skillet, but all in all, was a great experience :)

WCC. Really enjoyed my birthday meal there. CM was just okay.

EW, Chef Mickey's..... it's like a very expensive (relative to the food it offers) buffet that has characters running around, but's it's nothing better than the Ponderosa. CM's is definitely my least favorite of the character meals, blech.

WCC although we will be doing both in 2 weeks. If we had to chose it would be WCC hands down :thumbsup2

We have eaten at both several times with our kids. I would say CM would win out on food for our kids. They are not picky eaters and find very limited options on the menu at WCC. We go there for the atmosphere only and after our last two visits we are taking it off our must do list. I can't imagine removing CM from our must do list. Keep in mind neither restuartant is outstanding in terms of food..............good maybe, but certainly not gourmet.
Just one opinion, but with your young kids I can not recommend skipping CM.

WCC. This was one of the few places my picky DS actually ate. Also my hard to please DH loved the skillet so much infact that the morning of the last night there I called and was able to get reservations again and cancelle Crystal Palace to take him back there. He's ready to go back.:thumbsup2

My experience is exactly opposite than most previous posters. WCC was awful. The skillet was sloppy--DRY meat particularly icky and the atmosphere at dinner was chaotic due to kids running around servers trying to carry food and drink. The "ketchup" game gets old reallllly quickly:goodvibes

OTOH, we had an early dinner adr at CM and were very pleasantly surprised. The salad bar part was really good with a very nice seafood salad with shrimp and scallops. The carving board had a nice beef roast (not prime rib--but decent) and the dessert offerings were tasty, too.

Everyone in our party agreed that WCC was a one time deal and that CM would have to move to our "must do" list.:hippie:

Neither restaurant offers spectacular food, but Whispering Canyon Cafe is absolutely the better option. Chef Mickey's is pretty unappetizing.

I would vote neither. They are both for atmosphere only. CM food was bland or just edible. WCC food was dry and had way too much smoke flavor.Ugh....best thing was the dry cornbread LOL.

For a good buffet with characters, I would suggest 1900 Park Fare at the GF. Very tasty salads and entrees. Standouts were the broccoli salad and mushroom ravioli...delish. Desserts were good as well.
