Which on property hotel

If the price goes down, they will cancel and rebook you at the new rate. They can sometimes transfer the deposit you already paid to the new reservation, though if the rate drops, they do not refund the “overage” of your deposit, in my experience. I love the GCH for the style and the location. We sometimes stay at the DLH when GCH is booked, but then our feet always scream as we walk past GCH to the DLH at park closing….

I've stayed at all three and all three are good choices. Just depends on how you like to spend your time.
Grand California's big advantage is location. Last time we timed it, and it took 2 minutes from the time we closed our room door to when we were in California Adventure. When we ride rides that soak you, we start in Disneyland on Splash Mountain, Hit Grizzly River Run, hit the hotel for dry clothing, and head back to the parks.
We don't use the pools. and only eat in the hotel on arrival day and only if we are not going in the parks that day. So the quicker we can get to the parks better, which is my wife prefers the Grand Californian.

What craziness this is. Standard rooms are back today at DH, they said sold out yesterday. I rebooked at DH. Either way we'll probably stay at GC the trip after this when my husband goes with us. He doesn't go on all the trips and has never stayed at GC before.

Thanks for all your help! I loved hearing why each of the hotels is great.

I thunk GCH is a better overall RESORT. It has everything. DLH is a very nice hotel with a great pool, but it's lacking in dining options, grounds, and a place to sit and relax indoors. The one bar is very hard to get into and the walk up has long lines often.

The GCH has that amazing lobby, several dining options, including late night dining at Hearthstone, two bars to choose from, a spa, and better overall service. Plus the location cannot be beat.

The beds are identical at both and are SUPER comfortable. However, the bathroom setup at GCH is better for privacy.

This whole thread has be rethinking my hotel choice! We are booked at DLH for May 31-June 3, mainly because GCH has either been booked or much more expensive each time I checked.

But this thread inspired to check again and I was able to book GCH for less than $200 more for the whole stay. Decisions decisions. This will be just me and the kid so staying closer seems to make sense (and we love the Grand).

But... We've never done DLH before and I was looking forward to trying out that pool/waterslides/restaurants, etc.

What to do?!? That quick exit back to the Grand is mighty tempting. We are already doing Universal for the first time at start of trip, so coming back to familiarity at the Grand might be really nice.

Has anyone noticed any noise in their rooms due to the late Grad nights?
