Help me decide.....
Am I hitting any US holidays in here? Trying to get a 'low crowd' week!
Jan 4-11
Jan 9-16
Jan 16-23
Jan 23-30
Jan 30-Feb 6
Feb 6-13

Thanks.

Jan 17 is Martin Luther King Jr's B-day, so you might want to avoid the 15-17th. Also Feb 12th is Lincoln's Birthday but most schools will take the 14th off, so that's a 3-day wekend also.

I would pick Jan 4-11. It is RIGHT after they take down all of the holiday decor and people are recovering from the holidays so the parks should be pretty empty. Which is bittersweet, though. Because the parks are empty, you'll have more opportunities to experience more during your days at the parks. On the other hand, because it's such a slow time, there probably won't be as many shows or special treats!

Whatever you decide. I hope you have a great time!! :earsgirl:

You might want to check out www.riderefurbs.com to see what rides and attractions will be closed during your various weeks. That might have an impact for you. For instance Splash Mountain will be closed during the latter part of January into March. If you have your heart set upon certain things it is always good to know in advance. Also bear in mind if your date is close to when something is supposedly going to be down you may still miss out. For example for our September trip we were supposed to just miss the Haunted Mansion's holiday install and the Matterhorn refurbishment. Then they changed those dates ever so slightly and we missed them anyway!

Oh my thanks for that tip! Small World & Haunted Mansion will be closed and those are 2 faves. Splash Mountain we really like -but if the weather is cooler I might not bother with it anyway.
My daughter loves Haunted Mansion and Small World. We would have to go on the 2nd to be sure to catch Haunted Mansion, but all the specials come out on the 4th.... grrrrrr. But hey....not a big deal - its Disneyland!!!! Its just one ride missed - and its not a fave of mine (shhhhh don't tell her... hahaha).

BTW, how's the planning and saving going? I remember a few weeks ago your DD didn't win the free trip to DL and was heartbroken. Everything looking better for you? Just wondering...

I had a small winfall of about $550 and have had an AMAZING week at work (I work on commission). I have a budget of $1000 and thinking I can swing this as an Xmas gift. Never thought in a million years I could do this - but someone from above is taking care of us! She deserves this in more ways than I could ever explain....actually we BOTH deserve this. We will probably arrive in Disneyland, look up at the castle, and start to ball our eyes out! Its a big budget trip - but we don't need anything fancy, and with a fridge/micro in the room, we can live on pizza for dinner for 3 nights! hahahaha.

That would be an amazing Christmas gift! I hope it works out for you. She'll be so surprised and will probably be counting the days until you go. Keep saving and you'll be there soon. With any luck, maybe you'll be able to complete the whole Disneyland experience and stay at one of the onsite hotels!:D I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you... Good luck!

i know that right now the castle is covering by scaffolding and blue tarping -- will it be re-opened by jan/feb?
i assumed it wouldnt be uncovered until May 2005

I hope so ... we're going 2/14-2/18 before the presidents week holiday which begins 2/20 with 2/22 being the federal holiday

here on the east coast that three-day weekend begins a week off (winter break) - dont know about the rest of the country

Last I've heard the castle will be uncovered in November.
