Thats quite a list. I'd pick Cypress Pointe Resort, Grand Beach or Westgate (just be sure to avoid the sales) but many others are just fine. I know one I'd definitely avoid - Magic Tree Resort. That is a converted hotel that is not up to the quality expected in a timeshare in Orlando. It was the very first timeshare we ever stayed in over 17 years ago and it hasn't improved with age.

That's a lot of choices!!!!

I say go with locations. The ones you have listed are all over the place. Figure out what area you want to be in and then decide about what extras you need for your family and go from there.

sales better stay away from us, the travel agent said no tour required.

thanks for advice

I removed Magic tree resort

I know, that is what popped up when I asked to go to WDW under military.

and I have no idea about any of them

These are my picks. Of all these - we have stayed at Silver Lake-Silver Points, and it is very convenient to WDW. I also did a lot of research on Cypress Point. It is also very convenient to WDW. I've got friends that own at the Fountains, and it looks lovely.

As far as a timeshare tour, they'll call you and offer it... but you are under no obligation to take one. It appears that you are booking through the Armed Forces Vacation Club. I see you are using a travel agent, but if you call and book the condo yourself, you can save $50.

I found a 3 bedroom villa at cypress pointe for $329.00 for one week you think they will take $50.00 off that?

I am actually using veteransholidays

I am about to take a TS tour plunge at Marriot Horizons for $199 4 nights :O

I'm not familiar with that site but it looks to hhave similar inventory with the Armed Forces Vacation Club and GETravelOp

You have to qualify for Armed Forces Vacation Club to get the discount, the requirements (for booking through AFVC) are on that site. The $50 discount is only available by calling in, not booking online. It's only good for a few months this fall.

by golly you are right, $279 for a week in a 3 bedroom at cypress pointe resort, amazing

We've used the AFVC 4 times ~ twice in Orlando, once in Hilton Head, and once in Gatlinburg, TN. It's a great program.

We're using something similar this fall. www.govarm.com

I checked govarm rates and they are nowhere near that price

thanks

I've found that the rates on the Govarm site fluctuate a lot. A couple of weeks ago, they had several choices for early October at $199/week. They've gone up quite a bit since then.

I booked my week at Vistana Villages last month and it's $100 more a week now than it was when I booked.

I was about to book with govarm today for 513 a week with tax, now I am looking at 279 plus tax at a nice place thanks to you.

Happy I could help :)

I love the condo discounts - both AFVC and Govarm. I tell anyone I know that's eligible to use them, LOL!

Another vote for Cypress Pointe. It is so close to Disney maybe 5 minutes from DTD and the resort is great, my family of 5 had a great time there and wouldn't hesitate to go back again if we could get another great deal.

are those sites for condo's only? Reason I ask is that my brother and his wife are military and they were thinking of coming down here and they would rather have a private home (4 kids)

Yes, they do have him call 1-877-867-3639 I think you can get additional $50.00 off calling in for a limited time

Government Employee Travel Opportunities is pleased to offer additional rentals at privately owned vacation homes and condominiums at the following popular vacation destinations:

The sites listed here are through the timeshare companies RCI & Interval International. I've not seen private homes available for rent.

cypress pointe is not available for us the week we needed it so I chose the Grand Beach for $313 with tax for 7 nights and no TS tour required.

I also bought tickets for $25 each for sea world and adventure island thru the NRA.

thanks for all the help
