Which of these 2 options would you choose for trip w/extended family?

I'd stick with BLT, but then we pretty much loved it. It's very easy to get to Epcot and even easier to get to MK. Once at Epcot, you can take the boat to the Studios. I avoid the bus, can you tell? LOL

BLT is a nice new, bright, shiny resort too. Which I loved. Kidani is new too, but I stayed there for one night in October and I couldn't see to put my makeup on in the bathroom! Ok, I will admit that I am night blind.

My only concern would be having the living room area available for early risers to make coffee etc. With a teen sleeping in the living room, that is. If you can rouse him to move to a bed that would be ok. Or maybe he's an unusual teen and wakes up early?

We love BLT, too, but if we can get an extra studio to give everyone a bit more privacy and room, then we'll make the move to AKV. (We don't have enough points to add a studio at BLT or we'd just do that and avoid the whole 7-month call, which would be easiest.)

It's funny you mentioned the makeup thing at AKV ... honestly, I felt the same way about putting my makeup on in BLT's bathroom. It was way too dark!! I gave up and started putting it on with a compact mirror by the window.

And while ds can sleep in with the best of 'em, he gets up every weekday morning at around 6:30 a.m. so no worries about disturbing anyone. We're all going to be up early. We're not there to sleep, we're there to play!!

If you are needing more "REAL" beds, I'd go for a 2 bedroom at OKW. There is a lot more room there also. On the other hand...if you are already booked at BLT, I'd probably stay there if for no other reason than the extra bathroom.

With OKW, whomever sleeps in the living room will have to use the master bathroom. As long as you are in buildings 30 and above, that wont be a problem because there will be a door into the toilet/shower/vanity portion of the bathroom through the laundry room, and the door to the sink/closet/tub area of the bathroom can be closed off for privacy. That makes it ALMOST like a 3rd bathroom. Given that and all the extra space at OKW, I'd still prefer that over the cramped quarters and fewer real beds at BLT.
