We're AP holders and planning an Oct trip. My DS 5 is out of school Oct 6-16th and my husband's b-day is Oct 10th. We're planning to drive down on a Fri and stay until the following Sunday (9 nights) in our timeshare and do a variety of Southern CA attractions (legoland, a zoo, beaches, etc plus disneyland). We have 2 options with our date:
1) Leave Oct 2nd after my son gets out of school and come home on Oct 11th
Pros: My son will then have a week off after we get back to rest.
Cons: Gay Day is that first weekend - might be more crowded.
2) Leave in the morning on the 9th and come home on the 18th.
Pros: We can leave earlier on Fri to get there. We miss gay days.
Cons: My son would be back at school the next day. Columbus Day is the 12th so not sure if that weekend will be extra busy.
Any thoughts on how the crowds will be? I know some other states have fall holidays...what week is that?
