Which month is best

You have to keep in mind that hurricane season here in Florida is from June 1st. to November 30. My daughter's wedding was May 31st. and the weather was perfect. It is just the starting of summer but it isn't so hot yet and right before hurricane season starts. Orlando can get alot of wind and rain if there is a hurricane in southern Florida so keep that in mind when planning.

When you say chilly how cold is that im from the UK does it really get cold enough to think I need a jacket?

We were there last year in Dec. One day we had shorts and t-shirts on and I think I even wore a lilly print. The next day I had my heavy winter coat on from up north and was still really cold. In the winter months if the air is moving up from the south its really warm and pleasant. If the air is moving down from Canada it can be really chilly - like heavy coat weather. So its just sort of the luck of the draw. I think most years when we are there in december I plan to wear long pants and I always have a fleece with me. I know everyone is saying May - the weather is usually nice in May - more likely to rain than in dec - but def much warmer. I still however vote december. I love the xmas decor - I really do and I wouldn't miss it. As magical as disney is year round I always feel that there is a little bit of something extra special at xmas. Also if you are coming from the UK it would hopefully be a bit warmer in WDW then at home so it might be a nice break from the cold for your guests. Where as I am sure that May is lovely in the UK as well.

Thank you for replying I never thought it would get that cold in Florida. Mum and Dad went last year (December) and said it was still warm weird when they blow snow at you when you are in your shorts lol!
I love October its hot but still nce to be out in it.

Spring Break is at different times in different places. I am out on Spring Break now (college)... and the elementary and HS kids will be too next week.

I vote for May. It's a lovely month especially for an outdoor wedding... and if you set the date earlier enough in the month you won't have grumpy guests because of the humid heat that normally occurs mid May onward on.... :thumbsup2

Hurricanes really aren't a factor in Florida in May. I mean there are fluke storms (SubTropical Storm Andrea May 9-11, 2007, Tropical Storm Arthur May 31 - June 2, 2008), but they're extremely extremely rare. So my vote is still in for May!! :goodvibes

that's very true. The only reason to try and avoid those hurricane months, is that if there are hurricanes happening that year and you never know, sometimes people flying in from different areas might have trouble if the weather is bad. That is why they chose the end of May for that reason. We had relatives coming in from all over including Israel. I remember in 2004 there was a hurricane and Orlando had many business places damaged from the wind and rain and many things had to be cancelled.

Out of all those months, May averages the rainiest with almost 4 inches of rain, April is at 2 inches, and December at 2.24.

I would also base your decision on when is a good time for you to make the trip etc. It could rain any day in any of those months, it could be scorching hot. Florida has very unpredictable weather any time of year.

The 2004 storm was Charlie, and that was August 13th (Friday if you'll believe it!) The OP is just trying to decide between April, May and December, so she won't have to worry about such things! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for all the responses!

I think we are going with a late April/early May date. We based it on what our family and friends want, what will work for us, and of course, all your responses! We are both grad students, and have essays/exams in december, which we would not have to worry about for the other dates. I am more worried about the rain during the spring months, but I do remember when I was there this past December, the weather ranged from pretty cold (had to wear a warm sweater), to really hot (getting burnt in a tank top).

Anyways, thanks again everyone
