Which Month Has The Smoothest Sailing?

Just reading someone's trip report where they complained of rough seas. Anyone know which month is better for sailing for the smoothest seas?

We are crusing April 17th and was hoping to have nice calm seas.

We are sailing in May 2006 and was also wondering....

Tried december....wasN,t too bad a bit bumpy on the last night though.

We cruised the same week last year (April) and had pretty rough seas and winds on Sunday, same on Monday but not as bad. The winds were so strong on Sunday, that you really could not comfortably lay in the sun on the top deck so it made for a very crowded pool deck. Monday was much better but still somewhat windy. You could use the upper deck if you didn't mind some wind. We had sun all week except in St. Thomas/St. John.

All in all we had a great week and would go that week again in a heartbeat. We would have gone that week in 2006 but it is tied with Easter and very very expensive. We may be going in February but are pretty nervous about the weather in February. We'll see.

I have cruised in July and the sea was like glass!!, but beware it is HOT!!!!

We cruised Nov 18th 2004 and the weather was amazing and the waters were pretty still. We did feel some rocking one night (I stumbled a couple of times but caught myself) but since it was our first cruise I could not tell if that was "bad" or not. I would definitely cruise again in NOv just for the weather!

We sailed this cruise last year. The first night was a little rough, but after the 3 days after that were fine. I felt the ship move a little Wednesday night/ Thursday morning as we came back into port.

We sailed May 2004, and the crew could not quit saying how nice and the weather was. It was the smoothest, most beautiful thing they had seen in a number of months.......for us too. Not to hot, not too cold, not to windy. Absolutely beautiful.

ive sailed in february twice and july once and the seas were calm every time. Hoping the same for our next one this april

I've sailed in December, January (twice), March, and April. We only had rough seas on one of our January cruises. I think it's really hit or miss.

According to that chart Nov is the 2nd worst time for the Bahamas. So either the rocking we felt is the worst it gets or we got lucky LOL
