We have 4 adults and 3 teenagers who enjoy dining out. We will be staying on the monorail loop for the first time, so I'd like to try something there. For our trip we are hoping for: Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, 50's Prime Time, Liberty Tree Tavern, and O'Hana. We've done many character meals in the past, so I'm thinking we don't really need to do Chef Mickey's unless the food is great. How is the Wave? We will probably not do signature dining this trip as the couple we are bringing does not want to pay much oop. (we're doing dining plan). I'd love to hear some suggestions from the experts! Thank you.

Two words:

MUST DO KONA!!

OK, that was three words, but Kona is our families favorite on the loop.

The Wave has a more sophisticated menu. Have the teens check it out online to see if they would even be interested.

The Wave is outstanding, Citrico was to die for...the Grand Floridian Cafe is excellent too...any of these three would be perfect for us

We enjoyed Kona, the Tuna Oscar is amazing! I haven't tried The Wave yet but that also looks good, the menu is interesting.

Here is another vote for Kona!!! LOVE the tuna oscar but the other dishes were equally good according to my dining companions. We loved the wings appetizer and the bread!!

Thanks! I didn't even consider Kona since we will already be eating at O'Hana. Are they different enough to do both?

Kona is our must-do every trip. My favorite is the Tuna Oscar--my husband loves the steaks. It is very different from Ohana---we did not really care for Ohana--the meats were very dry on our visit.

The Grand Floridian Cafe is really nice - a hidden gem - great food and service.

Or you could try for afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian - that's always enjoyable and tasty.

If you like sushi you could also try the Kona Island Sushi Bar at the Polynesian - they are open in the evenings from 5PM-10PM. Their menu is a little limited but the sushi is very good.

How about Kona for a TS breakfast??? The Tonga Toast is TO DIE FOR and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes are just as good.

Kona is good for all three meals. One of our favorites, with GFC being a close second.

Grand Floridian Cafe! Best WDW resort secret~
Narcoosees is our favorite but that is 2 TS credits on your DDP. But it is worth it. Especially, if you do a late evening dinner timed with WISHES!

we just came back from WDW... and tried KONA for the first time. it is our new favorite restaurant. absolute best meal of our trip. it knocks the socks off of Le Cellier!!

Since no Signatures, I will recommend Kona and The Wave! Both are excellent - we have consistently good food and service at both. We too like GF Cafe, but we've had several server issues there over the years - always good food though!

Happy eating, Tiger :)

We liked Kona okay, but didn't love it. I am looking forward to trying The Wave and the Grand Floridian Cafe so I would choose one of those.

Kona is my absolute favorite on the monorail line. We go there for dinner the night of our arrival every trip. The sticky wings are amazing. The bread they give you is so good and the macadamia nut butter is ridiculous!!! The pecan crusted (I think) chicken is amazing. And their deserts are delicious. I'm drooling now.

I would suggest The Wave. The food was good, not the best, but good. The desserts are unique and we like some of them.

Otherwise, I would try the Grand Floridian Cafe. We haven't been back in a couple of years now, but it was fine then.

We've been to Kona a few times (last time was this past August) and we weren't thrilled with the food or service. But maybe they were just having an off night.:confused3
