I think I've decided and then I second guess myself. The theming of CBR appeals to me, but should I go smaller (one of the PO resorts?) because my dh hated the walk to Broadway at ASMU in 2003....I'm a big Gone with the Wind fan and Port Orleans riverside looks good too..... Which is your favorite moderate and why?? I'm very close to booking- just need to know WHERE!!! :earseek:

LOL I am experiecing the same thing. One min I think I will do value to save money then I think the S/D would be awesome. Cant decide......driving DH nuts.

Sorry I cant give you any suggestions here as I havent stayed at any of the mods. I think there is a lot of walking at CBR and CS tho.

Whatever decision you make, know that you arent alone.

I've stayed at POFQ and CBR and visited the other 2. I really like POFQ. It was quiet, quaint, small with a very cool pool and secluded hot tub. No room is far away from the food court or the pool and the New Orleans French Quarter theme is very nice.

You run the risk of being really far away from the food court if you stay at any of the other resorts. There are bus stops around all the other moderates, but only one for POFQ.

We have stayed at CBR, and CS.

CBR is big. We stayed close to the bldg with the food court (Martinique 26). It is now preffered and costs more. We were about a 3-4 minute walk to the pool/food court area, and across the parking lot to a bus stop.

I heard a lot of complaints by others about how far away everything is. The resort is beautiful though. Can't beat the atmosphere.

CS is nice. It too is spread out. We were very close to the main pool, and bar. The only downside was that the pool bar closed early, in May, so you couldn't get a drink after 7 or 8, without going to the main food court, which was quite a distance. You did not say, whether or not you have kids. The pool at CS is much better than CBR

Can't help you with PO. We are planning on Pop Century next trip, unless a code comes out for the moderates. Then we are going to try PO

Good Luck deciding :flower1:

Disney is so great it's soooo hard to decide isn't it?? :D

We stayed at CBR last year for the first time. We LOVED it!!! I've always been partial to the Caribbean theme and it was so quiet and peaceful there. However, if walking around a large resort isn't something you prefer...then possibly the CBR isn't for you.

We didn't mind the walking because the propery is soooooo beautiful, we enjoyed walking through it to get to the food court, etc.

Don't worry too much though..no matter where you stay at Disney..you'll have a wonderful time!! :flower1:

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside on our honeymoon in 1998. At that time it was called Dixie Landings. Our room was in one of the mansions right on the water. It was very beautiful and serene. We stayed at the CBR last month and I didn't realize how huge the resort actually is. We stayed in Martinque 2583, which is one of the preferred rooms and still had a nice walk to the food court. The atmosphere is really nice if you want to feel like you are in the caribbean, but if you are not staying in one of the preferred rooms, you have to walk alot or take the bus. My parents were in Martinque 2113, and although they would walk to us in the mornings, it was a far walk, and it is VERY confusing there. There are all these walkways and hallways and you can get lost very easily. My mother wouldn't go back to the room by herself because she couldn't get her bearings. I would probably go back to port orleans before cbr.

We have stayed at Riverside, Coronado and Carribean Beach. All are lovely and all have pluses. We hop around so we can enjoy them all. Riverside is my favorite of all. The grounds are as lovely as a "deluxe" and the fact that Riverside and French Quarter are "sister resorts" gives you easy access to more dining, swimming and recreational options. Pick the one that most appeals to you this time, and don't fret over this - -they are ALL nice. You can try another on NEXT trip! :)

My Fav is POFQ. The landscaping, rooms, cms, and pool are wonderful :Pinkbounc ! I strongly suggest this resort! :cheer2: :wizard:

WE have stayed at CBR and CSR and loved both. If the theming of PO appeals to you, go for it. PO never appealed to us so we never stayed there but it is smaller I hear than CBR and CSR though we love the large size. CSR is our favorite for the relaxed atmosphere and great theming.

We've been to all 4 and all have good and bad points. My favorites are POFQ and POR. You will have to walk more at CSR and CBR because they're both really big. POFQ is the smallest. POR is big, but it we didn't have to walk as much as CSR and CBR.

I love the atmospheres of POFQ and POR - I love the South. I love how they redid the rooms at POR - very nice and great mattresses. The grounds are so pretty.

You can always come back for the ones you didn't pick - it's an excuse for another trip!

I'd pick one based on what theme you like the best. Many people say CSR is too spread out, but I didn't think so at all and we were in the Ranchos section (furthest from the main building). It was a 5-10 minute walk to the food court. I didn't mind it at all. You'll be walking around the parks all day anyway, so what's a little more at your resort. No matter which moderate you are at, you should never be more than 5 minutes from a bus stop.

I know it's a tough decision. We love to try new resorts, but are afraid of spending a lot of money and not being pleased.

We've stayed at all the mods and CBR is our favorite. We did stay in Martinique (right before it became a prefered) and were close to everything. The CM's were wonderful, especially mousekeeping (made towel animals every day) the buses were great not a long commute anywhere, very centrally located, rooms nice and clean with the most storage space of the mods (additional shelf under sink, bench had large drawer and suitcases fit under the beds). The only downside was the main pool could use an update.

We thought POR and FQ were okay, but not very impressed. The bus ride seemed very long no matter where we went (other then DD), were not pleased with the food at either food court, CM's always seemed to be annoyed. We were just at FQ in July. The rooms were very pretty since recently being redone, but drawer space was lacking and suitcases do not fit under beds.

CSR was nice, but very large. (The hotter it was, the larger it seemed) The pool area was great and Pepper Market is our favorite food court. (Even with the 15%) Mousekeeping wasn't the greatest, kept forgetting to empty trash.

I know how you feel about flip flopping on the resort decision. I've switched my mind on resorts a total of 5 times for this trip!!!! :Pinkbounc First it was Contemporary, then Swan and Dolphin, then WL, then Pop and now POFQ (I vow not to change again this trip). It's so hard to decide. We love the Deluxe's, but just couldn't swing it this time, since I'm a stay-at-home Mom now :D .
We stayed at PORiverside (when it was Dixie Landings) and absolutely loved it! We loved to just walk around the grounds! We picked POFQ this time because it's smaller. With 2 little ones, we wanted a more compact resort.

POFQ gets my vote :Pinkbounc We stay there almost every year. I love the smaller size of the resort and it is very beautifully landscaped/decorated. Everything is in walking distance, the pool is great.

we have stayed at cbr, and por and pofq, and they all are great. they are large and spread out, but walking around the grounds is part of the vacation for us. we feel the food court is slightly better at riverside. the quiet pools at riverside are very large and usually not crowded, especially on the mansions side. but hey, i think it depends on what experience you want: its a disney vacation, you cant go wrong!

I was just thinking about this ... I would recommend that you stay at CBR if you're willing to pay for a preferred buiding. That way you would be where you really want to stay and your DH won't have to walk too far to get to the OPR, bus stop or main pool.

i have been to both resorts. i loved CBR, and had a bad experance with POR. in 2003 they were under construction so we had to walk soooo far for everything. a lot of the bus stops were closed down too. they are probably finished by now but i don't think i will go back. this year i will be going to CSR and WL for my honeymoon. we like to check out different resorts.
good luck deciding.

Me and my dd have been debating the same question. We are doing the land/sea package in May and staying at the Poly for the 3 nights before the cruise. I have arranged for us to come back to WDW for 3 nights after the cruise and we are trying to decide whether or not we should try a new resort. We stayed in POR back in 1998 when she was 6 and then CSR 2 1/2 years ago and loved the theming but especially loved the pool and hot tub. My dd is a slide freak :earboy2: I guess the slide is the deciding factor. POFQ slide looks fun but small.
