I vote for CSR, too. It has the best pool and is opening its own night club later this month (so say the reports), plus unlike the other moderates, it has a gym and spa. Like KatMark, it's my favorite so I admit to being biased! However, if you think the group is going to want to spend a lot of time at Downtown Disney, you should consider Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans (in that order), both of which are nice, and which are close to DTD and share a boat to DTD. It's a long way from CSR to/from DTD.
I vote for CBR for your group -- here are a few reasons, having stayed there twice --
-- beaches at every village, plus one at Old Port Royale, where the main pool, pool bar, and food court are located
-- beach volleyball at the OPR beach
-- bus stop at each village, making the walk to the bus stops short
-- food court and game arcade are great at OPR
-- Caribbean Steel Drum music overhead at OPR
-- the resort is beautiful
-- 1.4-mile Promenade walkway around the resort's 45-acre lake, great for a walk or a run
-- boat rentals on the lake, large enough to enjoy them
CSR has an indoor and two outdoor lounges, a spa, a fitness center, a salon, tanning beds, steam room, a marina, a sand volleyball court, a awesome pool with a great slide, the largest hot tub on WDW property, better food court with more options and a sit down restaurant.
The new lounge will have a dance club as well after 9:00pm.
