Hi,
I'm planning our FP+ for our second MK day. On our 1st day, we'll hit all the big ones. So which ones do you think my princess will want to repeat? (Not interested in character greets because we're doing a cruise prior)
Thanks for the help!

I don't know what kind of rides your dd likes. My DD is not into thrill rides. We were there last year when she was 5. And her repeat rides were Dumbo and the Magic Carpet (which are basically the same type of rides).

It's impossible for any of us to know what rides your child will enjoy. :confused3 You could always book your FP+ for the second day after your child has already experienced the rides.

Well, if I had to guess at a typical 5 year old girls wants, I would stick with Fantasyland - Mermaid, Pooh, IASW, Dumbo, Peter Pan, etc.

My 5 year old girl wanted to repeat SM, BTMRR, and Splash.

This was my oldest DD at 5 and still is. However, my youngest DD who is 5 now is entirely different. No thrill rides for her. Her favorites are: Voyage of Little Mermaid, Tomorrowland Speedway, Dumbo, IASW, and COP.

Those were my 5-year-old DD's five favorite rides and the ones she asked to ride again. But she does not like thrill rides and thought Barnstormer was scary -- other kids at that age might love BTMRR and Splash.

My DD is also 5, and I expect we will be living in FL next week when we are there. She is very excited for LM, Pooh, IASW, Goofys Barnstormer, Dumbo, PP

There really is no real answer. My almost 6 year old did not like the faster rides or ones that splashed her in the face last trip but my almost 4 year old loved splash, BTMR etc and wanted to go over and over. It is really subjective. Each kid will be different. Not the answer you wanted I am sorry but I was surprised at the choices they made.

My 5yr old neice didn't want to repeat the Fantasyland stuff (surprisingly) - she wanted to repeat HM and POTC which shocked all of us since these were the two rides she was most unsure about riding initially.

My DD was 5 last time we went and her repeats were Splash Mtn, BTMRR, Space Mtn and POTC.

When my DD was 5, she only wanted to repeat HM (haunted mansion) and the Prince's carousel :thumbsup2

most of our trip at that age was meeting the princesses

At 5 my DD's favorite ride was Splash Mountain. She also liked the Peoplemover, Buzz Lightyear and Dumbo/Magic Carpets quite a lot and would have no problem with repeating those.

I think sometimes we're too anxious about FP+ and feel we need to have most of our choices pre selected. As others have said it's hard to predict what your child will enjoy most...DS surprised us many times having reactions to things at Disney totally opposite of what we thought they would be. I would wait until after your first MK day...see what you daughter liked and then you can make you FP+ selections for your 2nd MK day. I found it easier to make new selections than try to change existing ones while in park the last time we went. It may be different.

It would be tough if you made selections based on what you assumed she would like and then find out you were wrong and then have to scramble to get what she liked...also, if you get to MK at RD your 2nd time there and knew which rides you wanted to go on, chances are you will be able to enjoy all if not most of them without FP+ or long lines...over the years, I found consistently the best way to get on rides quickly without FP is to get to the park when it opens. You'll be amazed at how much you can get done within the first 2 hours if your at RD with a plan.

On our first trip my daughter was 6. Her FAVORITE ride was Splash Mountain. I think me and my 3 kids went on it over 6 times one day! Just LOVE that ride. Taking different funny pictures as we headed over the drop! lol

She also loved Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (show not a ride).

It will all depend on how much of a dare devil your daughter is! Mine surprised me. On our trip this January she wasn't quite 8 years old….and she LOVED LOVED LOVED the Rockin' Roller Coaster! And it goes upside down! lol But she also BAWLED her eyes out on Tower of Terror and vows to never go on it ever ever ever again! :rotfl2:

IF your 5 yo child is not into thrill rides definitely do not force them over and over on them. Last summer with our 5 yo DGD we rode the Barnstormer over and over and over. For her it was the right amount of thrill. At 5 this can vary greatly.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful advice. Interesting to see so many votes for Splash Mountain and the Railroad. Do you think those 2 would be too scary at night?

When my DD was 5, she enjoyed Goofy's Barnstormer, the Tea Cups, and the People Mover. We rode them all over and over and over. In fact, she usually asked the CMs on the People Mover if we could just stay on!
