I'm looking for a great pool for my DD 16 (and her brother to come for the weekend days) and one that has a balcony looking out onto something.
We will be there 4 nights -- two Universal days and 2 'other' days -- probably not Disney, but maybe Disney water parks.

The pricing right now seems great for those properties and the niceness of the pool may be the deciding factor (and I love the idea of having 2 bedrooms) What are your thoughts?

We stayed at the Marriott Sabal Palms last month and loved it. The units are behind the huge Marriott World hotel and guests can use the World pools, water slides, restaurants, shops, Starbucks, etc. It's a short 5 minute walk to the World or they offer a shuttle.

The Sabal pool and hot tubs (2) are quiet and relaxing. You can see the hot air balloon and Planet Hollywood in DTD from the Sabal pool. The units are two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge circular shower in the master bath, full kitchen, washer/dryer and quiet. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room. A LOT of room! There are only two stories and my recommendation is to get a second floor to eliminate any possible noise from an upstairs neighbor. There are no elevators but each entrance is private. The balconies that I saw overlook either the pool (which we had) or the golf course. I suppose you could ask for a pool view? There are two entrances to the screened-in balcony; one from the living room and one from the master suite.

The World pool is gigantic, with 2 waterfalls, hot tub, children's splash pool, outdoor restaurant and bar, multilevel decks, separate waterslides. There is also a pool near the spa which is really zen-like; playing relaxation music and calm. I almost fell asleep there! All the pools were very clean and well kept.

The Royal Palms are on the same property, but we didn't look at those. They seem to be a bit farther from the World pool and I would think you need that shuttle.

I'm looking into the Grande Vista for a *possible* trip in October. Haven't heard/seen anything about that resort yet. ?? We will definitely stay at the Sabal Palms again. The Grande Vista is a little cheaper right now for us for October (about $200) and Marriotts in general are usually really nice.

Thanks! We have stayed at the Grand Vista before and will probably end up there again. The rates were terrific and I love the extra space. I also like the idea of being higher up and overlooking a view.

Did the second bedroom have 2 Queen beds or 2 twin beds?

We've stayed at harbour Lake and Grande Vista. We liked Harbour Lake more but we have younger kids. Grande Vista is much larger/spread out.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Marriott property.

Lakeshore Reserve is the newest. Looks like it has some nices water slides and a lazy river. We hope to stay there sometime.

We are at Sabal palms now - overlooking golf course. The second bedroom has a full bed and a twin. The world center pools are awesome and very short walk. We are in building 44. One thing to be warned about- the master bath is open! And the walk-in shower has a walk of glass blocks that face outward--no way to close off so it is light all. Night. Long. We like it dark when we sleep and this is brighter than a night light. Love the property but prob not stay here again. Royal palms is very nice but need shuttle to world center pool.
Grande vista is our favorite but it is also farther from Disney. We had a returned building overlooking golf course at grande vista last year, upper floor. We had to drive to main pool which is a bit of a pain but the main pool is very nice. Harbor lake is cool for kids with the pirate pool

It took 8 minutes this am door to door this am when hubs dropped me off at Studios from Sabal Palms
Our view on balcony
