Which Magic Band is Right?

Hi.. can any tell me which of my magic bands is the current one for my upcoming trip.
I can see several magic bands from past trips showing up on MDE and I do not know which one is for my upcoming trip. I don't want to have problems when I arrive do to activating the wrong magic band. Please help.

All MagicBands that are assigned to you can be used interchangeably.

We can't see your MDE account. I'm assuming you personalized your magic band a different color than you past ones, the most current one will be the new color. That being said, magic bands do not go bad and can be used interchangeably. You can take any magic band with you that is activated and it will work just fine.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the bands have batteries in them that go bad after 2 years usually. I take them all down with me just in case one doesn't work now. I was part of the test group for them and have since collected many of them. The one thing I did was only choose 1 color ofver the years and now I wish I hadn't (Blue) This year will be orange to separate it out.

The bands are tied to your name and account and as long as the battery works any of them will work.

Even if the batteries go bad, they're still usable for most functions (getting into parks and rooms, charging, etc.). The only thing they won't work for with a dead battery are communicating with the long range sensors in the parks, which right now I think only means automatically linking ride pictures. But you can always link the pictures manually after you ride.

It doesn't matter which MagicBand is the most current one. You can use them all interchangeably.

For mine, the most recent is listed first. Others have posted that's not the case. If you have a bunch, I'd pick a few and take them down. And deactivate the others.

It. Doesnt. Matter. You have one MDE account. Any MB that has been assigned to that account will work to access anything on your account. The MB itself holds no information. What color did you select for this year?

There's no problem to be had. They don't activate a band. They scan a band (some CMs have thought that this does something to that band, some have thought they need to scan a band from each person, but the majority of our MB trips I pull out ONE random band from my bag, they do something, and ALL bands we have work) and you move along.

Glitches do happen but it's not because they scanned an old band. It's just a glitch.

And if you just bring one and it happens to be the oldest band they made and the battery has run out and you want to use the long range sensors, they'll give you a grey one.

The newest band should be listed first in your account, match the 12-digit band id number with the band id number on the inside of the band.

But like previous posters have suggested, bring them all with you, they don't take up much space.

I'd recommend coding it so you know which resort/year. We use 2 letter resort, YY, and first initial.

Why deactivate them? There is absolutely no need to do that. As has been said many, many times already, you can use them all interchangeably.

A glitch can happen regardless. Unlike in Wreck It Ralph where she *controls* her glitches, there's no way to glitch-proof yourself.

If it happens, get it fixed. If it doesn't, yay!

If you get a new MB then that's great, do it. If you want to bring multiples, do it.
