Which 'Kiddie Rides' in MK Require a FP?

We'll have 2 grand kids along this Nov and they'll be doing some rides in MK that we rarely if ever do. Wifey and I burn our FP choices on SplashMtn and 7DMR and the like and we have no idea about lines on the less thrill oriented rides. Which rides (Dumbo?) should we steer our daughter to when it comes time to make FP+ choices? The kids in question are 5 and 7 and we do expect to be there at RD so I'm assuming they'll be able to walk on a few before needing FP.

Thanks,

The only attractions I would use a FP for is Enchanted Tales with Belle and Peter Pan, or plan on rope dropping one of these. I just rope dropped Peter Pan last week and rode it twice with no wait. I would plan on getting FP for Dumbo, Small World, Little Mermaid etc as 4th, 5th, or 6th Fastpasses.

Peter Pan, Buzz, Enchanted tales with Belle, or maybe meet the princesess if they are into characters.

I agree with everyone above. Princess Elena is popular right now so that may be a good one. PP for sure!

I wouldn't rule out rides like 7d mine train or big thunder for 5 and 7 year olds but agree Peter Pan is a good kiddie ride to use FP for.

This is very true. My kids were 3 and 5 last trip, and my 3yo was just tall enough for 7dmt and BTMRR. They loved them both.

Same here, my kids are 4 and 5 and tall enough for the big coasters. If they are willing to do coasters at all, I would FP+ 7DMT, Splash, BTMRR. I would rope drop Fantasyland, starting with Peter Pan. I would try for a FP for 7DMT for 9-10am. Continue through Fantasyland and then go to Frontierland (getting there around 11:45) with FP for Splash and BTMRR from like 11-12 and 12 to 1pm. Once you scan your last FP, I would search for one in either Adventureland (Jungle Cruise, Pirates) or in Tomorrowland (Buzz).

If after riding 7DMT, early that morning, they are too scared and hate it, then you can easily switch those FP to something less scary!

The kids 5 and 7?

They are tall enough to go on pretty much anything, so it depends what you consider "kiddie rides"

We get the following because they are traditionally long standby lines and the family likes these rides (and they are relatively "close" together).

Peter Pan
Buzz Lightyear (this is my son's favorite ride and the line can be fairly long).
Seven Dwarves.

After that we just get a 4th FP for whatever is available to save time .. doesn't really matter if it is Dumbo, Jungle Cruise or Aladdin ...

Personally, the key to Fast Passes for me is "time/space" while also trying to avoid the longest lines.

My DS4 loves 7DMT, Splash, and Thunder. Unless you have reasons to avoid these rides, a five and seven year old will probably love them. I would RD the Fantasyland rides (Peter Pan, IASW, Pooh, Dumbo), then move on to FP the "good stuff."

At 5 my DD was already riding all the thrill rides at MK so the kids may actually enjoy the thrill rides as well.

My kids are 7 and 5 :-). Their favorite, by far, is 7DMT. I would recommend 7DMT, Peter Pan, and Splash Mountain (depending on time of year). If it is closed or cool out, I would go with Buzz.

Depending on whether the kids like thrills, I'd do Peter Pan, Buzz, BTMR...rope drop 7DMT or PP and switch FP..if they don't like thrills, then instead of BTMR, do Pooh or Pirates...later FP, I'd try for Haunted Mansion (if they don't mind spooky) and Jungle Cruise...if they really like princesses, then gat a FP for that if you haven't already done a princess meal.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I do think they'll be up for thrill rides in all the parks with the possible exception of ToT and EE. In 2004 we took the whole crew to WDW and our first grand child was 4 at the time. She qualified for ToT so we did it and as we left she said, 'Pop, I don't ever want to do that again!' As it turned out they joined us in 2006 and she couldn't wait to go back on.

You never know. Our first trip our youngest was 3.5 years and very tall. She loved ToT, Splash, BTMRR, she wasn't tall enough for Space Mtn, but she loved everything else. I would say definitely FP Peter Pan, it is very slow loading.
