Hi Everyone, :)

Most of you will know that we are going to DLP in November, 1st week of the xmas season.
We are staying Mon- Fri and have booked to leave on the Eurostar on Fri Evening.
We are booked to stay at The Dream Castle Hotel.

After booking i was really upset to find out that we may miss the Fantillsion Parade as previous years it has only been on Fri, Sat, Sun evenings during that time in November. :sad2:

We were thinking that it might be a good idea to ammend our booking and stay the Friday night, (but not in the dream castle hotel) we were thinking to stay that 1 night in one of the cheapest hotels but didnt know which hotel is the cheapest????

If we stay in a cheap hotel the Friday night then we will not miss the Fantillusion Parade and if we book 1 night accomadation only (no park tickets for the Saturday) we thought we could have breakfast at the Hotel and then spend the rest of the saturday in Paris.
Then of course come back to DLP to leave for the Eurostar Saturday evening.

I just need to find out which Hotel will be the cheapest to stay in for that 1 night and then i will give the Travel Agents a call for a price.
If the price isnt too much then we will go for it but if its too much then i think we will leave our booking the way it is and will have to see the parade another time hopefully. :confused3

What would you all do??? Do you think it will be worth it to see the parade or would you be inclined to leave the booking how it is and hopefully see the Parade if we go another time??? :confused3

Thanks for your help everyone

The cheapest hotel on site is Santa Fe and the cheapest one on the complex where dream castle is is Kyriad but these are only marginally cheaper than the dream castle.
There are cheaper options at Bussy st Georges - see sticky for info on budget hotels but you will have the hassle of getting your luggage to the hotel for one night then need to store it for your day in Paris.
I think you may possibly find the Eurostar may have gone up if you change your booking to a Saturday- dont know if they are different prices for weekends.
To be honest I would leave your booking as it is and enjoy what you are going to do anyhow. Fantillusion is nice to see but its not that brilliant thats its worth messing round and paying alot more for an extra night - it will cost for the hotel, possile surcharge on Eurostar, luggage storage posibly, train to Paris, costs in Paris etc for a 15 minute parade. And you may miss it, may be too tired to stay in the park for it, may be cancelled due to bad weather etc etc.
But thats just my opinion Im sure other people will think differently

Thank you soooo much for your very wise advice, from what you have said i think you might be right.
Not only will we be paying extra for accomadation, Eurostar and trip to Paris but we will need extra money for eating out that day etc.... and like you said the parade might be cancelled due to bad weather and all that money gone down the pan!
Do you think the Fantillusion parade is as good as the normal park parade???

The Fantillusion parade is very different to the normal parade and worth seeing if you can but as I said before I wouldnt change my plans to see it.

You get more character interaction with the daytime parade and children are often very cold and tired to enjoy the evening parade.
We have only watched it once (and part of it which we caught by chance another time) as we've tended to prefer to use that time to get on rides when they are quieter whereas we have watched the day time parade several times

You are going to do so many fun things during the holiday I dont think you'll miss seeing it at all

I totally agree with everything A Small World has said.

Fantillusion is a lovely parade but I think the daytime one definitely holds more appeal for younger children and I don't think it's worth amending your booking and paying all that extra money, not to mention the hassle, just to see it.

IMO, far better to just have a fabulous holiday with your booking as it is and when you book to go back (as I'm sure you will ;) ) it will be something new and exciting for you to look forward to. :goodvibes

The thing I like about DLRP is that there is no possible way of experiencing everything the park offers in one visit.
For me I think part of the appeal is that there is always something new to see, for us last time it was the Christmas Season, before that - Buzz and the 15th Anniversary celebrations, next time it will be the new attractions in WDS.
Fantillusion is a wonderful parade, but I wouldn't change my holiday for it, bear in mind that nothing official has been announced for the Christmas Season and knowing the way DLRP are at giving out information, you probably won't be able to find out the exact itinerary of events until late Sept, early Oct., imagine if you go to the added expence of adding an extra night and then find it's not running.
I'd stick to your hotel and dates, I'm sure you'll have more than enough to keep you busy. :goodvibes

Thank you all for your wise advice ;)
I think you are right, i was soo disappointed that we would miss this parade but now i am starting to think that it will be something different to look forward to next time we visit.... like you say, it is impossible to experience everything in one trip.
This time we are going xmas season, if we go again i really fancy trying the summer season and im sure there will be lots to look forward too when we visit again :)
You are all so kind and have managed to turn my disappointment of missing this parade into total excitment
I just know that there is going to be so much to do and experience in the 5 days that we are there and we will be sooo overjoyed with excitment that we wont be at all bothered about missing the weekend parade.
Thanks everyone
