Going to disney in march with my wife and our 2 kids, one will be almost 4 and the other 7 mo.-expecting any day now :) We own at AKL and usually stay there but want to try something different with other transportation options. Which of these would you pick for a studio?

1. VWL for 6 nights

2. BLT lake view for 5 nights

3. VGF standard view for 5 nights

4. BWV standard view for 7 nights

I'd pick one of the ones you can walk to from your favorite park. With two small kids, you'll want to go back to your room in the middle of the day to rest and recuperate, so being able to walk back is going to be a huge plus.

So if you love Epcot and DHS, stay at BWV. If you prefer MK, stay at BLT. You can't walk to VWL from MK, but it does have a nice boat ride. You might need to fold strollers for that boat; I can't remember offhand.

You only need to fold the stroller on the boat from WL/VWL if it is the smaller boat that goes to the Contemporary Resort. The larger boat, you probably won't need to fold the stroller.

I think I would go with VWL. Larger than the BLT studio, much larger. The boat is easy to take to the MK or you can also take a direct bus to the MK. And VWL is a quiet place, especially if you have the need for nap times.

Getting BWV standard is going to be hard at seven months out. VGF is going to cost a lot of points.

I'd say it's between BLT and VWL with me leaning toward VWL if the extra day of vacation is important to you.

I'd pick the standard view at BWV so you'd have an easy walk to both epcot and HS.

I'd never pick BLT with a 4yo because of the open balconies that are so high up. (can you tell I had a climber--he's 14 now and I still think about it!)

Does VGF have a zero-entry pool? I can't remember. If so, that would be my second choice.

When our kids were that age we also liked first floor rooms at OKW. I know the busses can be a PITA, but the large room and balcony were nice, and you can put the crib in the laundry room if needed.

Well the first choice are ones available at 7 months... I think you will have a ton of trouble with a BWV standard View.

I'm not sure how VGF will be at 7 months, so it could or could not be there.

BLT is tough but Lake view will be your best chance

I think you will have a great shot at VWL.

As for best for kids, I like BLT and VWL as the walks are shorter to the rooms, but then it will also depend on which parks you want to spend time at.

Your chances of getting BWV standard for 7 consecutive nights for last half of March at 7 months out are low; VGF for five nights might also be an issue but probably still a good chance; others you list should be readily available. For room size, VGF is in 375 sq ft range giving you the most room, BWV and VWL in 360 range, and BLT in 340 range which can leave you feeling cramped. VGF and BLT give you the easier monorail (the most friendly stroller-accessible form of transportation) trips to MK and Epcot but boat from Wilderness to MK is nice. I would probably avoid BWV with a 7 month old because its bus system (to MK, AK, and DD) is the worst, slowest, and most untimely of all the systems at WDW.

If you could get VGF, that's the one I would pick. I think the splash area for the children is why VGF trumps VWL this time. The size of the studio is the reason I pick VGF over BLT.

I say with the little ones, I would go with VGF or BLT for the convenience to MK, which I am going to assume would be the park of choice for those ages.

I think the VGF studio is supposed to be larger than BLT, so I might choose that. I do love BLT and the ease of walking to MK, but now that there is another MK option, I think your family will be more comfortable in the VGF studio.

Yes, I think Deb has nailed the important points here. The boat ride is nice and becomes an enjoyable part of the experience.

I would pick BLT

would go with BLT

it has a fountain/splash area.

the pool is fine for your age children.

and the best - you can WALK to the MK. you ride the monorail to Epcot (with changing monorails at TTC)

walking to the parks is much quicker and really more relaxing for me - no lines.

coming back - you can ride the monorail - but again walking wins for me - it is not far - 5 min (if you can walk fast) to 15 minutes if you walk rather slow -
although do ride the monorail at least once so the kids can experience it.

I would go with VWL, I think the theming is better. Not sure what the transportation lines are like in March, but in May it was always a short wait for the boats. The kids now 6 and 3 always like the boat ride.

Buses the rides are short but do share a couple of stops on the way to the parks with AK being the longest.

We were able to book 3/23 - 3/29 at VWL! I stayed at the main lodge 11 years ago but this will be the first time at VWL. Pretty excited! :cool1:

FYI- of the four options I originally posted, my only options were VWL or BLT. VGF lake view and BWV standard view studios not available for the entire time.
