My parents are going to make reservations at Fort Wilderness for a full hookup with an RV. Which is the best loop as far as being close to internal transportation? My dad has to limit his walking. Thanks for any help!

They should just request a site near a bus stop...I am not a Ft Wilderness expert...try posting this on the camping board and I am sure someone can give you exact numbers of loops, but there are several bus stops and if they got a site near the end of a loop across from a bus stop it would be really close. Make sure they note on the reservation that it is for medical reasons. However, the walking he will need to do to get to the bus stop is NOTHING compared to walking around the parks...You might want to plan on a wheelchair. Also they might want to rent a golf cart if they will be spending much time at Ft Wilderness since it is a fair hike between the bus and dock, services, etc.

Any of them are close to the buses. Request that you be put close to the front of the loop.

100 is a prefered loop........and by far the least amount of walking to boat .....a golf cart will elliminate all walking...........unfortunately.....

100 is a prefered loop yes, but it does not have a bus stop, so to get to anywhere involes some walking, either to the Marina or the Settlement bus stop. The 900 loop might be a good choice, because the bus stop and the comfort station are at the entrance to the loop, so a request for the 900 loop near the bus stop would be a good choice, not sure if 900 is prefered though but it is a full hook up loop.

As already said request a site near transportation. When they arrive, if they are not satisfied, they can call the front desk from any comfort station and request a change. Sometimes it pays to scout out some empty sites and see if one is available. They have always worked to accomodate our needs, and we have always ended up happy with our location.

Just curious is there a loop that does not???????

Again in my opinion 100 and 200 will offer a guest the least total walking to the marina .....

the settlement bus stop is within 100 yards of the entrance of 100/200...

Because the op requested a loop near internal transportation I will stand by my original suggestion of the 900 loop, near the bus. This will have less walking then the 100 yards you suggest for the 100 loop(for some people that is a long distance). If they want to go anywhere except the marina the 900 loop would be less walking. For example, if they wanted to get to the pool, they will have to walk to the Settlement bus stop, ride yellow or orange to the appropriate stops(1500 or 900) then walk again to the pool. I know many people just love the 100/200 loops. I did as a kid because we could just walk to the beach and to the only bus stop that had external transportation. As things have grown and changed to accomodate the growth I don't find 100/200 to be as convienient as it used to be.
