Which is Quicker - DME or Priceline Car rental?

HI,

Interested any of your thoughts on this.
I have not used Priceline for a car rental for a long time. The rentals I have gotten over the past several years have all allowed me to use the kiosk to sign in and walk to the garage to get the car. So if it's a toss up between that and DME - We think the car rental is quicker.

However, for this upcoming trip, I haven't found a great rate for our entire trip stay. I do have a reservation for a rate I can live with ($107) pick up at Dollar DTD and drop at MCO. It would mean we take DMEwhen we arrive - survive two days without a car (not really an issue) and then get the car at Dollar for our last three days (which we need to return DD to the airport for fly back mid stay and would use for our departure also).

But I'm thinking of seeing if I would succeed with a low ball ($10/day) priceline bid. The total cost will probably be about the same as my 3 day rental. But I hate the idea of having to go to the counter. Can you do any of the advance registration of link your members numbers with a priceline reservation?
If you've done priceline recently - how efficient time wise was it?

TIA
Anne

subbing...exact same question I have.

However, I've been trying for days on priceline. All the way up to $20 and still being rejected :sad2:

I used Priceline a few times for car reservations at Disney. I try many, many codes for months, so I do my homework and use Priceline only whe I think the rate is significantly lower. Priceline is a paid reservation, so cannot be changed or cancelled once bid is accepted. You do need to go to counter, as rental clubs are not applied to reservation.

I bid 2 weeks ago for an 8 day rental starting 10/8. My bid was accepted for $12 fullsize ($170 total). Includes Columbus day weekend, so a few codes are blacked out. My parents have decided to go too, so I have been trying to get them a rental. $16 a day has been rejected a few days in a row. Using codes galore, best rate for them is $355 for 9 day rental (also full size, but Tampa airport). Works off supply and demand I guess. Keep trying. What have you got to loose? Please let us know if your bid is accepted!
