Which is less of a hassle to get to? Car Care Center or Dolphin to rent a car?

We'll be staying at ASMO. Sounds like it would be more complicated to get to the Dolphin. But maybe not. Anyone have any advice? When I called the Car Care Center, they said the shuttles have to pick you up and drop you off at the same place. (I was hoping to get picked up at ASMO and the next day go to MK, so either get dropped off at MK or Contemporary). Anyone know if this is possible? Was the person on the phone wrong?
The rates right now are cheaper at the Dolphin $30 vs. $51 at Car Care Center. (I'm just renting for one day).
How hard is it to get to the Dolphin from ASMO? Which would involve less waiting for shutles, busses, etc?
THanks for the help! :goodvibes

All Star Movies > MGM via bus, then walk or take boat to the Dolphin. Wait time depends on how soon after you get to the bus stop the bus comes, then on how soon after you get to MGM the next boat departs (or how long it takes you to walk).

All Star Movies > Car Care Center take free Alamo/National shuttle directly from ASMo to CCC. Wait time depends on how soon the shuttle shows up.

Advantages to Dolphin: Price; ease of access to MK after dropping off car (bus from Dolphin to MK).
Disadvantages to Dolphin: Takes longer to get there; rental hours more limited than CCC.

Not to highjack this thread but does anyone know which would be more convenient to get to from Old Key West Resort?

Thanks!

Mary

National will pick you up at your hotel and bring you right to the Car Care Center. We have done that a number of times, they will also bring you either to your hotel or the TTA when you are returning the car.

What I can tell you is that it is far cheaper to pick up the car for the exact same time period and make of car if you get it at the Car Care Ceenter then the S&D area. We've found that every single time.

I was checking the rates today for National and at the Car Care Center it was $50 and at the Dolphin $31, and at the Dolphin it was for a bigger car. I'm sure these prices are constantly changing though. I'll be picking it up on Oct 29 and returning on Oct 30. What is TTA? So the Car Care Center shuttle will drop you off somewhere other than your hotel after you return the car? Also how far of a walk is it from Epcot or MGM to Dolphin?
I'm leaning toward renting from the Car Care Center even if it is more expensive, just sounds easier. I'm picking it up fairly early in the morning and returning at about the same time, so the hours are not a big deal. Any more advice?

I rented from the Dolphin last month and it was terrific. You can walk there from Epcot's Intnl. Gateway in about 10 minutes. I would think you could just drop the car off in the morning, and hop on the bus to MK from the Dolphin.

I'm sure you are right about the change in price. That's a good thing to keep in mind.

Also check as to what time the car places close, I know one of them is early like 6 pm for drop offs, don't know if they are both like that or what. Or what happens if you need to bring it back after that hour how it works.

The one at the Dolphin closes at 4pm.

I rent at the Dolphin for convience and price.

We also prefer the Dolphin.

We usually set a pick up time for the afternoon. So we go to either MGM or Epcot that day and mid afternoon (when we are done in the park anyway) we go over and get it, then go back to the hotel for a swim, etc.

then when you drop it off, they have a valet...just hand over the keys and jump on a bus or water shuttle to another park.

I've always rented with National at the Dolphin, and found it quick and easy with NO waiting for shuttles involved. On my rental day, I head to either Epcot or MGM, hit the parks for the morning, then walk or boat over to the Dolphin. Pick up my car and drive back to my resort for a break. Their desk is located in the lobby and Melissa is great to deal with. BTW, hours are 8am-4pm.

For the record, I did use CCC last trip and concluded I find the Dolphin the best - less crowded and alot easier!!

HTH!!! :teeth:

I need to know also. I will return around 11 pm and want to drop off then, what do I do?

I am thinking of renting at the Dolphin and returning at MCO. Anyone had any experience with that? Any problems? Thanks

Shouldn't be an issue. We rented at the Dolphin and returned it to Tampa Intnl last month...very easy.
