Which is better - taxi or private car from Univeral to Poly

We need to take a car from MCO to Universal - we will be there four nights. Then we move over to the Poly for 6 nights.

I was going to rent a car for the Fri - Tues part of Univeral and return it at Disney once we go there.

But our Univ. hotel charges us $15 a day to park there. So I thinking that we could just take a taxi or private car around.

Can anyone tell me what to expect cost wise for these two trips?
