If we go on Saturday my son has to miss his basketball game. I have no problems with the rain - but I hate crowds.

Which day do you think would be slower?

Rainy days keeps the locals away. The Super Bowl Sunday thing is a myth.

^^ Really? Here in Surprise the streets and stores are EMPTY. Bell Road being empty is a sight to see. :lmao: That's when we go out and get our errands done. :thumbsup2

We went to Disneyland the year they played in San Diego and it was pretty slow. However sunday is always a bit slow anyway and especially in early February. I say go for Sunday.

I think Saturday is your best bet because of the rain. Sunday it's supposed to clear, and although I've gone on a few Super Bowl Sundays - it's hit or miss with crowd size - so, pretty much like every other Sunday. I'm going myself on Sunday as an AP holder, but if I had a choice, I'd definitely rather go Saturday this weekend.

I wouldn't say "Super Bowl Sunday is a myth" (that made me giggle), but...

Disneyland is empty in the rain is a fact.

What Disneyland will be like on Super Bowl Sunday is a crystal ball question... no one can say for sure.

Well I owe my son a trip - just the two of us. So I would prefer to go on Saturday so I can watch my little ones on Sunday while dh is watching the game. I'm just hoping it's nice and empty and that the locals are all at the indoor malls :)

I'd say, go with the rainy Saturday...the rain keeps people out of the Park as if it were holy water falling down onto vampires! :rotfl:

Well, I don't know. We decided to be rebel locals back in december. We got there at opening and we went on a rainy day and I can't say that i thought the park seemed empty. Yes, it's true, there was no line for dumbo but we didn't want to ride on it in the rain either! We were wet all day and it still seemed fairly crowded (it was also a saturday). If the rain is minimal that it might not be too bad but we went on a day where the rain just never let up. I wanted to go saturday too but I doubt we will go. So, i guess now I'm just being a typical local avoiding the rain! :rotfl: Good luck making a decision!

The superbowl "myth" is hit or miss. This is our 4th Superbowl weekend at DLR in a row. The 1st two the park was DEAD on SBS; but, the weather was not great.

Last year it was beautiful out and the park was quite busy.

I'm expecting a repeat of the 1st two years this year. I have learned that So. Cal people don't like to go out in the rain, haha.

We have friends out here that were supposed to meet us at the park today and saw the weather and said "no way", haha. That's ok though, we see them most trips out here; sadly to say has been 9 in the last year :scared1:.

We try to maximize use of our AP's :rotfl:

Of course the danger with going on the rainy Saturday is demonstrated in today's situation.

Due to the weather, the Park is closing early. Now, this is rare, but not unheard of. But, if it were to happen on "your" Saturday, your visit could be cut short. Or, it might not rain and result in crowds.

My point is that you should just pick whichever dates work best for you because there are SOOOO many other factors that you can't predict or control that can come into play.
