Looking for a budget hotel in Orlando that offers free shuttle to Disney, Universal and Sea World. Any one know how to search for that???
Thanks

i found overview sites (trip advisor/expedia etc) mixed with the hotels websites were a good way,

though i noticed very few mentioned how many shuttles a day there actually were.

shuttles can be minimal services (1 or 2 day day) so check if they will fit in with your plans, as if you miss it, the taxi bill will empty your wallet.

I don't believe there is anything that fits this description.

Agreed with the PP. We stayed at an offsite hotel near Sea World a number of years ago that had a pay as you go shuttle, supplied by Mears. With Mears prices, and a schedule that was quite limited. For example, there was always an early morning shuttle advertised, but we were unable to book it because of the requirement to 'reserve' space several hours before, on the same day.

Some hotels, even dumps, are charging a resort fee and/or a fee for guest parking. Offsite hotels, particularly the cheap hotels, offer limited shuttle service. Shuttle service which was free when you made your reservation may no longer be free (or even offered) when you check in.

DTD hotels have good bus service to Disney. The small offsite hotels share a bus with multiple hotels. You'll have to make a reservation in advance. No guarantee you'll be able to get a reservation. You'll pick from a very limited number of times in the am and an equally limited number of return times in the afternoon. A 20 minute drive may wind up taking over an hour. Your hotel may be the first stop. The last shuttle may leave before park closing. Miss the bus and you'll be on your own. An expensive cab ride back to your hotel will wipe out most of your savings.

Very few hotels offer free shuttle bus service to both Disney parks and to Universal parks. Driving makes the most sense.

Knights Inn is a very low end chain. The PP got lucky. Take a look at the reviews, many of the rooms are outright dumps. Almost half the reviews on Travel Advisor were either terrible or poor. I stayed at a Knights Inn over 10 years ago. It was pretty bad.

I think the Nick hotel offers complimentary bus service to Universal and Disney. Hotel isn't a bargain. Embassy Suites on International Drive also has shuttles to Universal and Disney.

edited to add One of the Knights hotels (I think it closed) had an issue with drug users and "ladies of the evening" patronizing the hotel. A hotel guest got shot.

You'll probably do better driving to the theme parks. More convenient. You'll have a much better shot of getting a good hotel rate if don't insist on a free shuttle to both Universal and Disney.

The Knights Inn West Maingate which I posted a link for has free shuttle to all the major Orlando parks as well as several other Florida attractions. The Buses started about 7am drop of a WDW TTC and ran returns untill 11:30pm, were very user friendly. 2 weeks stay cost me about $475 in 2006 that was regular rate no discounts. :thumbsup2

More then 1/3 of the posters reviewing that hotel on trip adviser rated the hotel as terrible. Almost half the posters rate the hotel as either terrible or poor.

I don't know if you have very low standards or were lucky enough to get one of the few decent rooms. I stayed at a Knights Inn (maybe the same one) almost 15 years ago. It was worse then you could imagine.

I would NEVER stay off property without a car. Hotel shuttles are very limited, scheduled, and usually shared among a group of hotels.

here is a schedule for offsite one with schedule

http://www.bestwesternlakeside.com/shuttles.htm

now it did share with other resorts. So don't know if it still does.

the problem with using an offsite shuttle is most want to leave before the night time shows at MK.

and if you miss it - you need to hire a taxi - do this enough times and a rental car you get at the airport would be cheaper.

plus you need to pay for transportation from the airport to the hotel.

oh always ask for a schedule when you arrive at the hotel and look at it - sometime the changing are minor - sometims the changes are majority - like the bus leaves an hour early for the MK than in the old schedule.

plus with the bus going to other resorts you make leave your resort at 8am but not get to the parks until 10:30am - which means you lost an hour and half from the attractions and important hour - because that is when you can see the most.

when the bus gets full it will leave - even if it is 10 minutes ahead of schedule. so you really need to be waiting for it at least 20 minutes before it is do to arrive

At least the BW Lakeside has good reviews on trip adviser. The link kind of tells you the issue with most offsite shuttles. The first bus to the MK leaves at 10:10a and the first bus to EPCOT and the DHS leaves at 11:35a. The only return bus from Universal leaves at 6p.

High probability you'll need to supplement the shuttles with taxis. You'll need to get from MCO to the hotel. A rental car is worth the extra cost.
