...I am looking for options walking distance to DLR , that are closer than the HOJO, but I do not want a motel style room with door to the outside. I have been looking but are most of them motel style?
Thanks:confused3

There's nothing really that's closer than HoJo that's hotel style. If you really want a hotel the closest ones I believe are the Convention Center hotels (Hilton, Marriott, etc) which are farther.

As the PP said, all the spots with awesome locations are "motels" as you put it with exterior hallways. Is your concern safety? If so, I'll simply say it shouldn't be, at least not at the main places on Harbor that we always mention here.

Within walking the Hojo which is about 7 minutes to the gates. For long walks the Holiday Inn Express and Ramada Plaza or Desert Palms all on Katella and about 12 minutes away. 15 minutes out the Portifino Sheraton Park and Red Lion on the next block or Harbor where the previously mentioned Convention Hotels are.

Like SonnyJane said if it's safety that is your concern none of these are better than the motels across the street.

No no safety concerns...noise concerns. We did hojo twice...premium rooms were noisy from the freeway beyond belief, pool view much better but I would like to be closer. I know motels are farther from freeway but there would still be parking lot / Katella noise?

Your walking distance options are Fairfield Inn, and the three Disney properties.

I've heard if you ask for the rooms at the back of places like Del Sol and Desert Inn that the noise is eliminated.

We have stayed at the Sheraton Park, its hotel style, but the walk is longer, probably close to 1 mile to the main entrance. Its over by the convention ctr and looks out onto the backside of DCA.

Fairfield inn has room doors to the outside. I believe Desert inn and suites and hojo are your only "close" walking options.

We have stayed at the Fairfield Inn a couple times and love it! We have stayed on the Freeway side and while it was a bit noisy once we stepped out the door, as soon as you close the door the noise is completely cancelled. I have not complaints at all about noise at that hotel. Last time we paid a little extra for a view room on the other side so we could watch the fireworks. Either side is fine for us.:goodvibes

Fairfield Inn, while having doors open to the outside, you do need to go to the hotel lobby to take the elevator up to the various floors.

Desert Inn opens to the outside.

The nearest "hotel style" locations are Hojo's, then down to the Sheraton, Hilton, and Marriott.

Hojo has done work to eliminate this problem. Since then I have seen no complaints of freeway noise.

Noise from Katella always seem to be a infrequent complaint. This may be because at most of the motels the office, and dining location are on the front of properties.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it's not too bad of a walk and the free breakfast was decent.

We always stay at Candy Cane Inn. Yes, it is "motel" style, but is not any noiser than any hotel I've stayed in. For the most part, any noise is from people walking past your room and they do that in hotels too. That is why we always bring our sound machine no matter where we stay. It makes "white noise" (we choose rain) and it covers up all the little bumps, stomps and chatter in the halls that you hear at hotels.
