Which hotel would you pick and why?

We've never stayed at POR, but we love the WL, so that would be my choice. We are a deluxe resort family and even though we had a great stay at one mod (CBR), we love the deluxe resorts and can't bring ourselves to stay anywhere else.

I know we are the same way. Once you have stayed at any of the deluxe resorts, you get spoiled and dont want to stay anywhere else! Our favorite's are the Poly and Boardwalk. I have stayed at CBR 20 years ago before kids. We also tried Coronado once. But we always wind up back at the Deluxes!

You are so right......once you try a deluxe, it's very hard to book anything else and we have definitely been spoiled by the deluxes. We have loved all of the resorts we've stayed at, but the Poly is our favorite too (with the WL and GF running a close second). It's been 11 years since we've stayed at CBR and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we chose a mod, but POR also looks nice. I have often considered booking POR, but I just can't seem to pull that trigger.....LOL.

I would probably choose POR or POP for ones that we have already stayed at because they have fun atmospheres. I have always wanted to stay at the poly or beach club its just never worked out where we could stay at either but we have been to both of them for restaurants and such. Those would my choices.

I would choose WL, but have stayed at POR also. We own DVC, so we haven't stayed mod in a long time. But we always enjoyed POR when we stayed there!

Well, my question would be why are you considering a new resort? Just because you want a change? Have you seen photos of POR and it has piqued your interest?

I have probably six favorite resorts at WDW and choose among them for most of my trips. But every so often, I just feel like a change and I'll book somewhere new or one I haven't visited for a while.

If you are just wanting a change, and are concerned that you may not have as enjoyable a vacation at POR, I would say that depends a lot on your expectations. There isn't a huge difference in room size, but it will be noticeable. The outdoor corridors can take some getting used to when you are used to walking indoors. Are you going to miss having a balcony?

I've stayed at both POR and WL and had great trips, but the trips to WL typically involve a lot more resort time than the trips to POR. It doesn't mean that I feel POR is less of a resort experience than WL, but that WL does have some extra amenities and I make use of them when I stay there.

We have stayed at both and the WL is better suited to our tastes. I always felt that if we can stay at a cheaper resort and stay longer, then we go with that. If money has no impact on length of stay and the cost of WL is not an issue go with WL. Nothing beats being able to jump on a boat and swinging by the Contemporary or fort wilderness...or a boat to the Magic Kingdom...a boat to the CR then a monorail to EPCOT...
