Which do you like best and why?

Fairfield Inn
Park Inn
Carousel
Tropicana
Desert Inn

Thanks so much for any input! I've read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, but it's hard to tell... There's mixed reviews for all of these! I LOVE this board. I am looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Thanks again!

I've stayed in the Carousel and the Desert Inn. The Carousel had nicer decor in their rooms, a very small rooftop pool and no hot tub. The Desert Inn has an indoor pool and hot tub. Other than that, they're both fine, although I might give a slight edge to the Carousel.

The Fairfield has improved lately from what I've read, but it's a bit farther away from the main gates.

Hope this helps a little!

Out of that list the only one I've stayed at is the Fairfield. We had 2 rooms there in Dec. 2003. We enjoyed our stay and I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. We are staying at the candy cane next month. Had it not been available I would have checked the fairfield. The only reason we want CCI was the breakfast and shuttle.

I have stayed at the Desert Inn three times in the last 6 years, and found it extremely close, fair price, and extremely serviceable. (for families - not my favorite as a couple I think) No problems at all for us!

We stayed at Tropicana 2 years ago and liked it well enough for its price. It was clean and close to the parks. There's a decent size pool and a hot tub, unfortunately its in the parking lot. Parking was easy to find and it came with a basic continental breakfast.

We stayed at Fairfield Inn in Feb 2006. Breakfast is not included as it is at most Fairfields. Don't get room next to elevator -- the elevator was noisy. But.. we were warned about it and accepted that room as we had a guide dog in training with us, so we wanted quick access to the elevator for early morning potty run. Staff was helpful, friendly. We would stay there again.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in August and were very happy with it. There is a nice family restaurant on the lot and a little snack bar in the hotel. If you have a park-side room, you get a really nice view of the parks. We watched fireworks from our balcony a couple of nites. It is just a short walk to the parks. Everything was very nice. No complaints at all. We would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at the Park Inn a few times and liked it. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, it is an easy walk to the parks and you could see a good portion of the fireworks from the pool/hot tub. The breakfast is only OK. We prefered it to the Carousel (the only other one on the list we have tried). Were we choosing where to stay offsite, we would choose the Candy Cane Inn though.... :thumbsup2

I am going May 10-12 with my daughter and her family (DD, DIL and DGD-8 and 5 1/2). I am thinking of the Desert Inn Family Suite B for the five of us. Is this a good choice?

I have heard good things about the Candy Cane, but it does not have connecting rooms. DD also suggested Best Western Park Place----What is it like?

Thanks for any assistance, Cindy

Either of those places would be fine. They are both basic, but clean. Desert Inn has an indoor pool. Park Place's is outside. I believe the rates are slightly lower at Desert Inn. Here are the websites so that you can see pictures of the rooms:

Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites - www.anaheimdesertinn.com
Best Western Park Place Inn - www.bestwestern.com/prop_05470

Hope this helps!
