If price what not a big issue which hotel very close to Disneyland would you choose? We have stayed at Candy Cane Inn before and loved it but looking for something closer in September.

If price was not an issue I'd stay onsite! :) But offsite, and very close, we like the Tropicana. Clean, nice pool area, free breakfast. The location just can't be beat IMO.

Best Western Park Place and Hojo are two of the most popular ones that are very close to the entrance.

Howard Johnson - they are re-doing the pools and I hear they will be the best off site pools hands down. They are close enough to walk and come with a fridg. They are the biggest rooms in the area. See about the Entertainment reat, we got four nights in may for $59.00! Rate code SD50 if you book on line or call the hotel direct and just ask. Don't call the 800 number, they don't have acess to the discount rate.

Next month we're staying at Dessert Inn & Suites, price is an issue but it's super close and supposedly a nice enough place. I have 2 rooms booked at HoJo's for 12/8-12/11 @ the $59 ent. rate.

If price wasn't an issue I would stay with Candy Cane Inn. The others just don't seem as clean and in as good condition as Candy Cane.

I have stayed at others when money was an issue because they are much cheaper than CCI but my preference is stillCCI.

If you're looking at something closer than Candy Cane, I would say either Camelot or Tropicana.

If price was no object I'd stay onsite at the GCH.

Offsite my first choice is HoJo for the Ent. Rate.
Second choice (if Ent. Rate isn't available) is the Tropicana
Third choice is BWPPI

Quick question. How far is the DLH to the parks compared to the HoJo from the parks? Is there really that much difference? We had originally looked at the DLH and ended up booking at the HoJo because we got the entertainment rate. Is the DLH that much better and that closer? I'm clueless......

I've always wanted to try out the Tropicana Inn across the street from Disneyland, I've heard some good comments about it. I also enjoyed my stay at the Howard Johnsen. But I'd advise you to not go, the last time I was there it was a mess. My entire room hadn't been cleaned!

I tried the Tropicana and was not a big fan....it was clean and close and that was about it. Maybe I am a hotel snob but my Dad was not happy with the Motel 6 feel of the motel either. I have heard good things about BW Park Place Inn and that the rooms are larger, especially the suites. One of our biggest complaints about Tropicana was the room was so small we had to climb over our suitcases to get to the bathroom and climb over the bed to get to the little table. Now, if they have suites.....maybe it would have been better for us? The breakfast was free but sad enough we did not go back up there after the first day and opted for McD's.
It is really hard to compare people's opinions to what someone considers nice to anothers. We either try to stay on site, if there is an AP rate, or will try BWPPI next time. I am very tempted to try Candy Cane but would like to be a little closer.

The DLH is about the same walk as the HoJo. we've stayed at the HoJo twice now, our next stay is coming next month. We love it there, never had a dirty room there!! I would compare the HoJo to the PP hotel, they were both very comparable. I've never stayed at the DLH so I can't say anything about that one.

The Tropicana, we've stayed there 3 or 4 times in the last 8 months, if the HoJo didn't have that killer Ent Rate we would stay at the Tropicana every trip. It is a motel and that's why it has the Motel 6 feel to it. LOL All the doors open to the outside. The HoJo is a hotel and the doors open into corridors inside. I've never been disappointed with any of the hotels I've stayed at close to the park. We stayed at the Peacock and we were disappointed with that.

IMO Howard Johnson is just as far away as the Candy Cane Inn. We stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites in December and had no complaints. It was clean, comfortable, close and not that expensive.

On behalf of everyone here at the hotel, I just want to apologize to you and thank you for posting to let us know about it!

It is definitely our intention, and a matter of standard operation, that each and every one of our rooms be serviced by our Housekeeping Staff every day. I am really sorry that this apparently did not happen for you!

If you would like to PM or email me [Lorealle.Bishop@hojoanaheim.com], I would definitely like to look into this for you and find out what went wrong so that we can make sure that something like this does not happen again in the future!

I hope that I hear from you soon!
Lorealle

Does Anyone Know How Far The Carousel Inn Is From Disneyland? Also How Are The Rooms?
Thank You
Sarah

About a 5 minute walk to the Security Check, we really enjoyed our stay there in 2006, the rooms were a bit bigger than our room in Tropicanna in 2004, the breakfast was good, the staff really friendly. Only negative was the pool which is small.
