We have no idea where we want to stay for our November 2009 trip but we are starting planning for another grand gathering. Which of these resorts would you pick and why? The good, the bad and the ugly. I want all input. I love AKL and BWI but maybe want to try something new. The only hotel I was not crazy about was WL just not my cup of tea.

Our party will be 4 parties.
2 adults 1 child 4
3 adults 3 children ages 10, 8, and 6
2 adults grandparents
2 adults aunt and uncle

Our choices are CR 12 floor, GF Sugarloaf, AKL CL, or BCV 1 bdr.

I voted GF. I see you have a lot of adults and 4 children under 10. A more upscale adult environment and close proximity to the MK sound like a mix that would make everyone happy. Also there is a cute pirate cruise that leaves from the GF wharf.

I think the GF would be too sofisticated for the kids under 10. The CR would definitely be a better bet. Especially with the monorail conveinence, and Chef Mickeys is a lot of fun.

I chose the BC. We stayed there this last summer and it was awesome!!!! We will definitely be going back! The best parts of the BC are:

1. Closeness to Epcot-we were on the end closest to Epcot (as requested) and it took less than 2 minutes to be inside.

2. Boat to DHS or Epcot if you don't want to walk.

3. Close to BW. There are great activities in the evenings and children love it!!

4. Storm Along Bay--It is a great pool area!!! Big enough for lots of family to gather around and a great slide.

5. The decor is light and airy. It reminds you of the beach

6. Cape May Cafe Character breakfast--That is the best breakfast!! It's not too busy so the characters have a lot of time to interact, such as sitting down and taking your breakfast!! The food and service is great!!

7. Art-- He's the greeter at BC and he makes every stay so enjoyable. This should not be considered as being last priority, but saving the best for last!!:thumbsup2

Have a great stay!!!

:thumbsup2 You said it all! Also, there is a great counter for food by the pool and a great, big gift shop with lots of snacks to choose from :)

Thanks for the BC tips. I am personally leaning to CR or BC. I just have no strong feeling either way. The others are random DH wants AKL and DS wants GF. I am in a toss up which is so not like me.

For a grand gathering I would take the villa. being able to host your family in room, without having them in your bedroom would be priceless.

A villa without a doubt. It will give you room to hang out without having to sit on beds. If others don't want villas they can stay in the regular hotel. Boardwalk Villas are right there too if you can't get a room at BCV. We like the Boardwalk better anyway. We are not big MK fans but if you are planning to spend a lot of time at the MK I would suggest the Villas at the Wilderness lodge.

Originally I would have picked CR for all of the convenience and fun it has to offer, especially if you are going to be spending a lot of time at the MK. However, if you are going to be in your rooms a bit, you may want to do a villa to have more family time together.
