Which has the better pool for kids- DLH or CGH?

Probably DLH. 3 slides, a kiddie dual racer, a small slide and big slide. A Splash pool, and a 4 foot deep pool. The big pool is under construction possibly until early winter.

GCH has a kiddie slide and a small slide. A kiddie pool and a big pool.

Look at the pictures at disneyland.com.

I agree with Skiing. DLH, and that's even with the pool still under construction. The DLH also has a few (three IIRC) cabanas, in case you are interested in that option.

I kinda disagree. I just stopped by the DLH with my 6 year old daughter and 5 year old son. The main pools shallow end was 4 foot deep and a bit too deep for my kids who aren't strong swimmers. The slide area had a kiddie slide that was too tame and the next slide up emptied into a pool of 3.5 deep, which was again too deep for my son to land in on his back. Additionally, the pools were not heated, they were freezing, even for 3 overly hot visitors to a SoCal summer.

One slide was not working, but my kids also didn't enjoy the pouring water from the slides as it was so cold.

My kids asked to never come back.

Sadly I have yet to stay at GC but cast members said it was rather tame, so I assume it's great for kids who are not strong swimmers.

Have you look at the Howard Johnson Hotel? It have a mini water park for the kids..

I think the older kids woud prefer the DLH. And the younger ones do have the toddler water slides at both pools. Also, both pools have free life vests for kids to wear.

My kids love the pool at the GCH, but they have fun at pretty much any pool and don't really need fancy theming or slides. The GCH has three pools plus a baby pool and hot tub. In two of the pools, there is a small area of 3 feet, then goes to 3.5 for a bit, and then 4 and 5 feet in the middle. One of the pools has a small slide and a big slide. The big slide empties into 4 feet and they do not allow you to go into that area of the pool to "catch" your kid, so my son can't go on it - he is 42 inches tall and can swim but I don't trust him enough to be 15 feet away in water over his head. The little slide empties into 3 feet which is great. That pool is not heated. The second pool (closest to the entry gate) is heated - it was easily 85 degrees. The third pool appears to be a little deeper - I think at its shallowest it's 4 feet, so we did not go in that one. I think it depends on your kids - the DLH may have more theming or slides, but my kids would just do the same thing they do at any other pool - dive for toys and pretend to be fish and mermaids. :)

As far as the pool area, the GCH is very nice - nice cushy lounge chairs, plenty of towels and umbrellas, life vests for those who need them. My only complaint is that the concrete gets very hot and burns your feet - so if you're planning to walk more than 10 feet, wear your shoes!
