Which guide do you prefer? Birnbaum's ads 2011- birnbaum travel OR The Unofficial Guide ads 2011- Bob Sehlinger.

I haven't bought any guides in about 2-3 years so I don't know the recent ones; however, I have always preferred The Unofficial Guide for some reason.

I haven't had a Birnbaum's to compare, but I do like the Unofficial Guide.

I borrowed the 2011 from the library, and even though I've been before, it had some helpful info for me about current updates, new shows, etc.

And I also like "Walt Disney World with Kids" (Wiley) because it has little scttered tips that I wouldn't have thought to look up.

Read them both. You should be able to get them at your local library. Then decide if you want to buy either of them. My first trip, I read everything that I could get my hands on (there wasn't as much online stuff as there is now ten years ago).

I used to buy the Passporter guide, but have bought a guide in years.

The Unofficial Guide is my favorite guidebook. It's funny and full of useful information - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Plus it's hilariously written and a fun read even if you already know most of the information.

The Birnbaum's, while useful, is "official", which to me always means that it is kind of dry and boring and only tells the good. The only thing better in it might be the official photos. I haven't looked at one in a while.

I preferred the Unofficial Guide - I found it incredibly useful for planning my trip, avoiding crowds, and getting the most out of my vacation.

My kids preferred Birnbaum's because it has prettier pictures, and it's all about the fun. It's like a really comprehensive travel brochure.
